Another for Affleck

Matt Affleck raised to 18,000 and Joseph Melancon made the call to see the flop come down {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}. Both players checked and the {4-Hearts} paired the board on the turn. Affleck fired 25,000 and Melancon called.

The river completed the board with the {3-Spades} and Affleck bet 43,000. Melancon folded and another pot was pushed Affleck's way.

Unabomber Flushed

With about 50,000 in the pot and a board reading {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, Joseph Melancon checked from the big blind to Phil "The Unabomber" Laak, who bet 20,000. Melancon then grabbed two stacks of blue chips, totaling 200,000, and pushed them forward. Laak wasted little time in calling all in for 190,000.

Melancon: {J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Laak: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

Laak was ahead but up against a flush draw. Unfortunately for him, the turn was the {4-Diamonds} and he was in trouble. He would need either a nine of king on the river. The dealer burned and put up the {7-Diamonds}. Laak was eliminated from the tournament while Melancon increased his stack to 600,000.

Stolzmann Eliminated by Begley

Steve Stolzmann just doubled through Tim Begley not to long ago, but this time he was sent packing when the two battling it out in all-in-preflop action. Stolzmann shoved the small blind and Begley called in the big blind.

Stolzmann: {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Begley: {A-Spades}{9-Hearts}

The flop came down {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Begley picked up a pair of nines to further push Stolzmann out the door. The turn was the {2-Clubs} and the river the {8-Hearts}. Begley won the pot and picked up the chips as Stolzmann was eliminated from the NAPT Los Angeles Main Event. Begley's back up to 225,000 chips now.
