Somerville Doubles

From under the gun plus one, Pat Pezzin raised to 1,500. Jason Somerville reraised all in from middle position for 13,325. When action got back to the Team PokerStars Pro Canada member, he made the call.

Pezzin: {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Somerville: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

The flop came down {6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and Somerville stayed in front. The turn brought the {3-Spades} and the river the {7-Hearts}. Somerville was able to double up as Pezzin missed.

Stein Out

Sam Stein has been eliminated and George Lind III was the player to send him out the door, collecting his second bounty in the process.

Stein was short and all in with the {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}. Lind held the {Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. The board ran out {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs} to give Lind the winning hand with queens and tens.

Sooooo... Jason Mercier Runs Better Than Anyone... Ever

Level 3 : 300/600, 75 ante
Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

Joe Cada raised to 1,400 from the cutoff seat and Alex Wice reraised to 3,500 from the small blind. Jason Mercier then made it 7,150 from the big blind and action folded back to Wice. He moved all in for around 25,000 and Mercier made the call.

Mercier: {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Wice: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}

The flop came down {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}{2-Spades} and, well, everyone knew again what was coming on the turn or river. The dealer wasted no time in delivering Mercier's straight on the turn with the {10-Spades}. Wice did have a redraw though, but missed when the {5-Clubs} fell.

Wice was eliminated while Mercier collected his second bounty and saw his stack soar to 93,000 in chips. Remember, Mercier won the $25,000 version of this event last year at the North American Poker Tour stop.

Timoshenko Shoves

Yevgeniy Timoshenko bet 2,250 on the {K-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop. Joe Sweeney raised to 5,500 and then Timoshenko came back over the top with an all-in shove for 19,600. Sweeney thought for a little bit and then folded his hand.

Mercier Busts Greenstein

Level 2 : 200/400, 50 ante

Barry Greenstein and Jason Mercier got all of the money in preflop. Mercier held the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and was dominated by the {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} for Greenstein. Now, if anyone knows how Mercier runs in poker, they'd say that Greenstein was really the player who was dominated in this hand.

The flop came down {J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and everyone pretty much knew what was coming on the turn. The {10-Clubs} rolled off and just like that, Mercier went from being dominated to being unbeatable in the hand. He'd only chop if a king rolled off on the river.

The river was the {6-Hearts} and Greenstein was already signing a copy of his book for Mercier. Mercier collected the chips to move to 50,000, the $2,000 bounty and the autographed book.

Waxman's Queens Burned

Level 2 : 200/400, 50 ante

Jonathan Jaffe and Matt Waxman got all of the money in on the {9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop. Waxman held the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}, but Jaffe had flopped gold with the {7-Spades}{3-Spades} for two pair.

The turn brought the {8-Spades} and the river the {A-Clubs}. Jaffe was all in on the flop for 20,225 and now has about 47,000 in chips. Waxman was knocked all the way back to 2,200.
