Another Ramdin Double

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Victor Ramdin had 28,500 chips left when he peeked down at {3-Spades} {3-Clubs} and shoved in from early position. All the way around in the small blind, Andrew Weisner made the call with {A-Spades} {Q-Spades}, and the race was on.

The board, please: {J-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {10-Hearts}

Welcome back to the game, Mr. Ramdin. After that double up, Victor is back close to 70,000.

It Would Have Been Weisner to Fold

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Adam Geyer raised to 18,000 under the gun, and the table folded around to the blinds. Andrew Weisner plunked in the call from the big, and he and Geyer went heads up to the flop.

It came {7-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {5-Spades}, and Weisner shoved all in for about 80,000. Geyer spent a long five-minute soak in the tank before he made the call with the covering stack. It was a good one.

Showdown
Geyer: {K-Clubs} {5-Diamonds}
Weisner: {A-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds}

Geyer's lowly pair of fives was in the lead, and the turn and river would keep him in front. The {J-Spades} and {9-Clubs} filled out the board, and Weisner has been eliminated.

Shak Picks One Up

From the hijack seat, Aaron Mermelstein raised to 21,500. Dan Shak was in the cutoff seat and made it 60,000 to go with a three-bet. Play folded back over to Mermelstein and after a half of a minute, he gave it up to allow Shak to pick up the pot.

Mermelstein Gets Shak'd

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Aaron Mermelstein eliminated
Aaron Mermelstein eliminated

Action folded to Mermelstein on the button and he raised. Dan Shak reraised from the small blind to 40,000 and Mermelstein called.

The flop came down {J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and Shak open-shoved to put the pressure on Mermelstein and his last 190,000 or so. Mermelstein insta-called and tabled {J-}{8-} for two pair. Shak held the {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} for an overpair.

The turn brought an {A-Spades} and that left Mermelstein drawing dead. The river completed the board with another {10-Diamonds} to fill up Shak.

Shak now has about 605,000 while Mermelstein has been eliminated from the tournament.

Tehan and Cortellino War With Baby Aces

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Leonard Cortellino and Joe Tehan got it all in preflop, Cortellino the at-risk player with his last ~100,000 in the middle. Tehan was working with {A-Spades} {4-Spades}, dominating the {A-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} of his opponent.

The {2-Spades} {6-Clubs} {K-Spades} flop was a good sweat as Cortellino flopped his pair but Tehan flopped a flush draw. A nervous Cortellino stood behind his chair with his hands on his head as he sweated the turn and river.

Turn: {8-Diamonds}. Safe.

River: {Q-Clubs}. Scary, but safe, too. That gives Cortellino a double to about 200,000, while Tehan drops back to 140,000.
