Liu Makes Quads, Helps Hunt Find the Door

Level 19 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

On a completed board reading AJQA5, Matthew Hunt bet out and faced a jam from Liu. Hunt eventually called it off only to see Liu turn over the AA.

Hunt turned over the 53 and stood as the dealer counted down the stacks to send everything to Liu. As he exited the tournament area, Hunt said, "If I hadn't seen you bluff that hand earlier, I'd have never played this hand like that" while Liu worked on stacking his newly acquired chips.

Askey Gets Value From the Big Blind Special

Level 19 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Brent Hart raised to 20,000 from the cutoff and got one caller from Anthony Askey in the big blind before seeing the flop come 2J3.

Askey checked over to Hart who continued with a bet of 25,000. Askey made the quick call to bring the 9 out on the turn.

Both players checked through to see the K fall on the river.

Askey led out for the first time in the hand and did so with a bet of 95,000. Hart thought briefly before making the call only to see Askey turn over the 74. Hart mucked and the dealer sent the pot to Askey.

Ko KOs Kobayashi in Multi-Way Pot

Level 19 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
David Dongwoo Ko
David Dongwoo Ko

A player in middle position raised to 16,000 and got called by Hirokazu Kobayashi in late position, the button, David Dongwoo Ko in the small blind and the big blind leading to a five-way flop of K69.

Ko checked as did the big blind and the middle position player, but Kobayashi decided to toss out a bet of 22,000. The button called before Ko came in with a check-raise to 88,000.

Both the big blind and middle position player folded before Kobayashi made the call. The button checked his cards one last time and sent them to the muck to set up a heads-up turn card that came the 8.

Ko led with a bet large enough to put Kobayashi all in and when he called to put himself at risk, he and Ko were headed to a river card with Kobayashi at risk.

Hirokazu Kobayashi: KQ
David Dongwoo Ko: K9

The 7 river offered no spades or queens for Kobayashi and Ko began collecting the pot as Kobayashi stood to exit the tournament area.

David Coleman opened for 20,000 from early position and action folded around to David "ODB" Baker, who three-bet jammed for 98,000 from the button. Both blinds folded and Coleman wasted little time in making the call.

David Coleman: A7
David "ODB" Baker: AQ

Baker was out in front with the superior ace but the 932 flop made things interesting as Coleman picked up a spade flush draw. The 5 turn put out some chop outs, but it was the 7 on the river that would pair Coleman and send Baker out the door in 80th place.
