Rutherford Gets the Best of Dianaty

Anthony Dianaty raised from middle position to 60,000 only to see a three-bet come from Timothy Rutherford in the cutoff to 225,000. Dianaty made the call to see the flop come 2♥2♦K♥.

Dianaty checked over to Rutherford who continued with a bet of 100,000. Dianaty wasted little time in making the call and watching as the 5♦ hit the turn.

Dianaty checked again and Rutherford paused briefly before reaching into his stack to assemble a bet of 275,000. Dianaty wasn't quick to release his hand, but after using a time bank and letting the clock tick down to five seconds remaining, he decided to slide his cards towards the muck as Rutherford added to his stack.

Yu checked once more on the 5♥ river and Schulman fired a third barrel of 675,000. Yu called and saw the bad news as Schulman tabled the nuts.

On a board reading 3♦4♠Q♠4♦, Liran Betito checked over to Masato Yokosawa who bet out for 240,000. Betito paused briefly before check-jamming for 1,330,000 total. Yokosawa made the quick call to set up a runout with Betito at risk.

With one card to come, Yokosawa would need a queen or a diamond to steal the pot back and send Betito home, but when the board completed with the 5♣ on the river, Yokosawa sent a big double Betito's way.

"Chop it up," Rutherford said hopefully.

The original raiser folded but Rutherford wasn't so quick to release his hand. After using up two time banks, Rutherford moved all-in only to see a snap-call from Dianaty to put Rutherford at risk and headed to a runout.

The board ran out 5♥4♠J♠8♥7♦, securing a massive pot for Dianaty and sending Rutherford home in 20th place for $10,495.
