Nuwwarah Finds Value with One Pair

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Yan Shing Tsang opened to 2,000 from the cutoff and was called by John Macdonald in the small blind and Mo Nuwwarah in the big blind.

The 732 flop and the K turn both checked through.

On the 10 river, Macdonald led for 2,000 from the small blind. Nuwwarrah then announced a raise to 8,500. Tsang swiftly got out of the way before Macdonald quickly called. He got the bad news immediately as Nuwwarah revealed K8 for a turned top pair and was able to extract extra value on the river.

Lococo Four-Bet Shoves

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Matthew McEwan opened to 2,200 in the hijack and was quickly three-bet to 6,000 by Martin Lozano in the cutoff. Action then folded to Alejandro Lococo in the big blind.

After taking a moment, Lococo announced all in while easily covering both opponents. That produced two quick folds, as Lococo added more to his growing stack.

Sheila Stimson had a career day on Wednesday when she took down the Women's Event at the PokerStars North American Poker Tour (NAPT) Las Vegas for more than just money.

The poker player from North Carolina earned her biggest score — $11,380 — and defeated Christina Gollins, a World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) ring winner, heads-up for the title. But she earned a little something else on top as the victory came with a package to the upcoming £100,000 guaranteed PokerStars Women's Winter Poker Festival at Hippodrome Casino in London.

The $330 Women's Event had 182 entries at Resorts World Las Vegas. The prize pool hit $50,960 and 27 players reached the money.

There were a number of high-profile players in the field, and at the final table, including popular poker content creator Caitlin Comeskey, who took fifth place for $3,000. PokerStars ambassador Marle Spragg (18th place for $660) and PokerStars Ambassador for Women in Poker, Kerryjane Craigie (14th place for $880) cashed.
