In a heads-up pot on a flop of 9♥3♥2♦, Maria Konnikova checked from the small blind and Jonathan Tamayo bet 23,000 from middle position. Konnikova check-raised to 75,000 and Tamayo called.

Konnikova then bet 135,000 on the 3♦ turn and Tamayo again called. On the 7♦ river, Konnikova sized up to 500,000 and the reigning WSOP Main Event champion used a time bank before folding.

With two players seeing a board of 9♥7♠6♣3♦ and around 100,000 in the middle, Michael Bohmerwald bet 60,000 from the small blind and Daniel Perrier called from the big blind.

On the 4♥ river Bohmerwald moved all in, covering Perrier who had around 160,000 behind. Perrier made the call and showed a pair with 8♦7♥. Bohmerwald showed a flopped straight with 8♥5♦ to send his fellow PokerStars Gold Pass winner to the rail and take the pot.

Two other gold pass winners remain in contention. Jordan Glazer is nursing a short stack with just over 200,000 while Brian Frasca is near the top of the counts with roughly 1,200,000.

Tran Snaps River Incorrectly to Bust to Micka

Luther Tran limped the small blind and Joel Micka checked his option in the big blind.

On the J♥8♥4♦ flop, Tran check-called a bet of 15,000 from Micka.

The turn brought the K♠. Tran checked again to Micka who bet 50,000. Tran responded with a check-raise to 150,000 and Micka put in the call.

On the 10♠ river, Tran slowed down with a check. Micka contemplated for a moment before he announced all-in for 350,000 effective as the covering stack, and Tran snap-called.

Micka made the second nut straight on the river while Tran snapped it off with fifth pair. His courageous call backfired as he hit the exit while Micka dragged a massive pot.

Li showed down top set, while Shin had straight and flush draws. The Q♠ turn completed both of his draws to give him the lead, while the river was the A♠ and Shin doubled up.

At the same time at another table, Justin Lapka and Victor Paredes built a pot of around 120,000 in a blind versus blind battle to the river on a board of J♣7♠5♦10♣4♦. Lapka then bet 190,000 from the big blind.

Paredes took a few minutes before calling with J♠4♠ for two pair, and Lapka flashed just ace-high as Paredes took down the big pot.

"Nitroll," Lapka joked with Paredes after the hand.
