Day 1c in Event #3 $2200 Main Event at the Pennsylvania State Poker Championship has been completed. The third of four Day 1 starting flights drew 34 entrants, with five players bagging and advancing to Day 2. The chip leader at the end of the night was Tim Faro bagging 818,000.
Faro is a World Series of Poker bracelet winner from Glen Burnie, MD, with over $650,000 in career poker earnings. Faro was able to accumulate a big portion of his stack after a blind on blind encounter when he woke up with pocket kings against the small blind Sharath Sreeramoju's ace-queen.

The PokerStars sponsored tournament has a $500,000 guarantee, and with the 34 entrants in today's field, the total is 93 players. Fourteen players bagged for Day 2, with only one flight left.
Play for Day 1 flights will conclude once 12.5% of the field remains, and those who bag will be in the money for Day 2. The remaining players all made the money after Nicholas Verderamo called off his tournament life with a pair of aces, but Alexander Wiggins made the nut flush on the river,to eliminate Verderamo and burst the bubble.
Day 1d, the final flight, starts Saturday, September 7, at 10:15 a.m. local time. Day 2 begins Sunday, September 8, at 11:15 a.m. local time and will play all the way down until a winner is crowned.
Day 1d will begin in Level 1 with blinds of 100/100 and a 100 big blind ante. All Day 1’s will be 40-minute levels, with a 15-minute break after every three levels of play, and a 60-minute dinner break after Level 9. Players will start with 50,000 in chips, and late registration will go until the start of Level 13.
Another reward to the winner is aGold Pass to the NAPT Las Vegas Main Event in November. PokerStars will award the winner of this event the Gold Pass package, which includes travel, accommodation, and the $5,300 tournament buy-in.

Action folded to Alexander Wiggins who raised to 12,000 in the cutoff. It folded to Nicholas Verderamo in the big blind, and he made the call.

The turn was the 2♣ and both players checked to the 6♥ river. Verderamo checked to Wiggins, who bet all in for Verderamo's last 103,000. After sitting in the tank for over two minutes, Verderamo made the call to put himself at risk. Verderamo tabled A♦4♦ for a pair of aces, but Wiggins had the nuts when he showed A♥4♥ for a flush, to eliminate Verderamo on the bubble.

The flop came 9♦5♦J♥ and Faro checked to Wiggins who bet 15,000. Faro then raised to put Wiggins all in, and he quickly made the call.

Faro jammed into the pocket kings of Wiggins, and after the board an out 5♠ on the turn, and 9♣ on the river, the pocket kings of Wiggins were still best, to get the double up.

Sharath Sreeramoju bumped things up to 12,000 from the small blind before Tim Faro three-bet to 40,000 from the big blind. Sreeramoju four-bet jammed his 285,000-chip stack into the middle and Faro quickly called.
