Reid Gets There on the Turn Against Mamut
Jeff Platt was standing on the rail cheering on Terrance Reid and giving out three claps every time Reid took down the pot with a preflop raise.
"Go talk strategy with him," Jon Kyte told Reid.
"You should be offended that he's urging me to get coaching from you," Reid said to Platt.
Jim Collopy then opened to 175,000 on the button and Kyte called in the big blind.
The flop came J♦8♣5♥ and Collopy continued for 155,000. Kyte called to see the 5♦ turn, then folded to another bet of 275,000 from Collopy.
The next hand, Nikolai Mamut raised to 160,000 in the hijack and Kyte and Reid called in the blinds.
Mamut bet 140,000 on the 9♣9♦8♠ flop and both opponents called. The turn was the J♠ and Mamut bet 330,000. Only Reid called this time.
The Q♥ river was checked down, and Reid showed 10♦7♦ for a straight to win the pot.
