Palma Redistributes the Wealth
Nick Palma and Martin Raus were debating how much taxes the wealthiest Americans should pay and the conversation was interrupted when Johan Schumacher raised to 1,000 from under the gun and Palma three-bet to 3,000 from the next seat. Raus then called in the big blind and Schumacher got out of the way.
Raus checked on the flop of 6♦4♥9♠ and Palma continued for 1,800. Raus called. Raus checked again on the Q♥ turn and Palma sized up to 3,400. Raus again called.
Raus checked once more on the 9♣ river and Palma put him to the test by moving all in for 11,900. Raus gave it some thought and called. Palma could only show ace-high with A♥K♠ as Raus rolled over 10♣10♦ to win the pot with a pair of tens.
"I found the bluff," Palma said with a shrug before turning to Patrick Leonard. "You didn't give him the memo! I've played no hands."
