Overton Can't Survive a Flip Against Latimer
Level 19
: Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Richard Green raised to 20,000 in middle position before Phillip Latimer three-bet to 55,000 in the cutoff. Aaron Overton then reraised to 160,000 in the small blind, leaving 11,000 behind, and Green folded. Latimer, though, moved all in and Overton used up a few time banks.
A tournament official then ruled that he was practically all in and couldn't use any more time tanks. Overton then stuck in the rest of his chips.
Aaron Overton: A♣K♥
Phillip Latimer: 9♠9♦
The flop came 8♦6♠5♠, while the 7♠ turn improved Latimer to a straight and left Overton drawing dead. The river was the 6♥ and he was sent to the rail as the first elimination of the day.
"I'm blessed just to make it this far," Latimer said as he raked in the pot.
