Day 3 Completed
The $10,400 GG Million$ at the 2025 Onyx Super High Roller Series, presented by Onyx Club, has crowned its first champion as Lebanon’s Moussa Ahmad claimed the trophy, and the $1,000,000 top prize. Ahmad topped a field of 510 entries at the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel Casino & Spa, becoming the inaugural winner of this new high-stakes series.
Ahmad outlasted a tough final table before defeating Canada’s Jamil Wakil in a heads-up duel that spanned only one level. Wakil earned $650,000 for his runner-up finish, while Austria’s Stefan Kiwisch took home the third-place prize.
The win marked a career-best result for Ahmad and put him in the top spot on the Onyx Player of the Series leaderboard, where the eventual champion will receive a $110,000 Triton Poker Jeju package.
| Place | Player | Country | Prize |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Moussa Ahmad | Lebanon | $1,000,000 |
| 2 | Jamil Wakil | Canada | $650,000 |
| 3 | Stefan Kiwisch | Austria | $415,000 |
| 4 | Krasimir Yankov | Bulgaria | $292,000 |
| 5 | Peng Chen | China | $212,000 |
| 6 | Ohad Geiger | Israel | $160,000 |
| 7 | Orhan Ates | Turkey | $127,000 |
| 8 | Weiran Pu | China | $102,000 |
| 9 | Hao Tian | China | $85,000 |
Ahmad began the day in the middle of the pack but wasted little time climbing the leaderboard. Early on, he three-bet Kiwisch with a weak ace and managed to get Kiwisch to release an overpair on a low flop. Soon after, he found a perfect spot against Peng Chen, defending the big blind with four-deuce and flopping a wheel. A big river bet earned maximum value against Chen’s top pair and closed the gap on leader Wakil.
Not long after, China's Weiran Pu shoved ace-queen over Ahmad’s open, only to run into his Big Slick. The board offered no help to Pu, giving Ahmad his first knockout of the day and the chip lead with seven players remaining.
After the eliminations of Ohad Geiger in sixth and Chen in fifth, Ahmad was back in the mix against Kiwisch. This time, Kiwisch’s big river bet with six-high got Ahmad to fold the best hand, and the Austrian proudly turned over the bluff. The celebration was short-lived, as in the very next hand, Ahmad won those chips back, and more, shoving the turn and forcing Kiwisch to lay down a hand with a lot of equity.
Krasmir Yankov, who had been the master of survival throughout the tournament, was next to fall to Ahmad. He got it in ahead with king-nine against Ahmad’s jack-nine, but a jack on the flop sealed his fate in fourth place, with Ahmad now holding more than half the chips in play. Moments later, Kiwisch joined him on the rail after the dealer delivered a deuce on the river to send him out in third, setting up a heads-up match with Wakil.
Ahmad started heads-up with nearly a 4:1 chip advantage, but Wakil instantly doubled through Ahmad with trip jacks to narrow the gap. Ahmad proposed a deal to Wakil, but Wakil preferred to play only for the final hand to arrive immediately after.
In the last hand of the tournament, Ahmad called a three-bet preflop with eight-three of clubs, then shoved over Wakil’s continuation-bet on a jack-high board. Wakil’s pocket tens were ahead until the river brought a club, completing Ahmad’s flush and making him the GG Million$ champion.
That wraps up the $10,400 GG Million$. Next, the spotlight shifts to the $25,750 SHRS Main Event with a $5,000,000 guarantee. Follow PokerNews for all live updates and chip counts.
Immediately after Moussa Ahmad asked Jamil Wakil about making a deal and Wakil declined, play continued with Ahmad raising the button to 1,000,000. Wakil three-bet to 4,500,000 from the big blind, and Ahmad made the call.
Wakil fired a continuation-bet of 3,500,000 on the J♦4♣2♣ flop. Ahmad paused for a few moments before telling Wakil, “Alright, let’s finish the game, all in,” and shoved for Wakil’s remaining 14,300,000.
Wakil stood up from his chair, visibly distressed by the decision. Ahmad also got to his feet, and when Wakil asked, “What do you have?”, Ahmad replied, “When you call, you will see.”
After burning through several time banks, Wakil finally made the call.
Jamil Wakil: 10♥10♦
Moussa Ahmad: 8♣3♣
Wakil had come to the right decision with pocket tens and just had to fade a club to take a commanding lead heads-up. Ahmad, on the other hand, was looking for a club to be the GG Million$ champion.
The K♦ on the turn was safe for Wakil, but the 6♣ landed on the river to complete Ahmad’s flush, eliminating Wakil in second place.
Ahmad raised his arms in celebration of claiming the GG Million$ title and $1,000,000 first-place prize.

Moussa Ahmad raised the button to 800,000 and Jamil Wakil defended the big blind.
Both players checked the K♣7♦J♠ flop to see the 4♥ fall on the turn. Wakil checked, then called the bet of 1,000,000 by Ahmad.
Another two checks came after the 5♣ appeared on the river and Wakil won the pot with 10♦7♣ for a pair of sevens. The pot went over to Wakil as Ahmad had Q♣4♣ for a pair of fours.

Jamil Wakil limped from the button, and Moussa Ahmad checked his option from the big blind.
Ahmad led out for 600,000 on the 6♦J♠8♦ flop, and was met by a raise to 3,000,000 from Wakil. Ahmad pondered for a few moments before making the call.
The board-pairing J♥ appeared on the turn, causing Ahmad to check. Wakil bet 2,400,000, which prompted Ahmad to jam for Wakil's remaining 3,950,000. Wakil snap-called.
Jamil Wakil: J♣10♠
Moussa Ahmad: 10♥8♥
Ahmad was drawing dead with a pair of eights against the trip jacks of Wakil. An inconsequential 5♦ hit the river, and Wakil doubled up on the second hand of heads-up.
