Lonis is the First Casualty of the Tournament
Level 2
: Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Eelis Parssinen made it 10,500 from the hijack and Jesse Lonis three-bet to 18,500 from the button. When it got back to Parssinen, he four-bet to 59,500. Lonis made the call with about 155,000 remaining in his stack.
As soon as the 2♥3♠9♥ flop came down, Parssinen bet the pot to put Lonis all in. Lonis rechecked his cards, then called.
Jesse Lonis: 9♠8♦7♣5♥
Eelis Parssinen: A♦Q♣J♠J♣
Parssinen had a pair of jacks against the top pair of Lonis. The J♦ turn was great for Parssinen as he improved to a set, and just had to dodge Lonis' straight outs. A clean 4♥ dropped on the river, and Lonis was the first casualty of the tournament.
