Day 1 Completed
Day 1 of the $51,000 Onyx SHRS PLO Championship during the 2025 Onyx Super High Roller Series presented by Onyx Club has wrapped up at the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel Casino & Spa, with 25 entries logged so far in this two-day tournament. A total of 11 players bagged chips and will return for Day 2, where registration remains open until the end of Level 12.
At the top of the counts sits the Netherlands' Marcus Dieleman, who finished the day with a stack of 2,602,000 to give himself the overnight lead. Taking the second spot on the leaderboard with a stack of 1,723,000 is Jesse Lonis, who took down the $102,000 Onyx SHRS NLH Invitational just a few days ago. The United Kingdom's Richard Gryko rounds out the podium positions after bagging up 1,555,000 chips.

Dieleman got off to a slow start but came alive around the midway point of the day. He first eliminated Matthew Wantman after spiking a rivered flush against Wantman’s middle set. Shortly after, he won a massive three-way pot, turning a flush against Artur Martirosian’s set and Jonas Kronwitter’s flopped straight. A clean river cemented the double knockout and propelled Dieleman into the chip lead.
Other notables who bagged stacks today include Jorryt van Hoof (1,477,000), Alex Komaromi (1,235,000), Manuel Stojanovic (1,179,000), Raphael Schreiner (859,000), Sean Rafael (710,000), Eelis Parssinen (412,000) after wisely checking back the river in one of the day's final levels when Dieleman had the nuts, Tomasz Krzesinski (381,000), and Biao Ding (358,000).
Day 2 will get underway at 1 p.m. local time with blinds at 7,000/14,000 and a 14,000 big blind ante. Players may still reenter as many times as they like until registration closes at the end of Level 12, and with the $2,000,000 guarantee still within reach, the stakes will only rise. The plan is to play down to a champion tomorrow, with one player set to add their name to the growing list of 2025 Onyx SHRS winners.

Play has concluded for Day 1 of the $51,000 Onyx SHRS PLO Championship, stay tuned for chip counts and a recap of the day's action.
After three limps, Jesse Lonis potted it from the big blind to 60,000. Sean Rafael, who was the initial caller from under the gun, back-raised to 204,000 and only Lonis continued in the form of a call.
Lonis checked the 7♠4♣K♦ flop, and Rafael bet enough to pot Lonis all in. The bet was for Lonis' 323,000 chips, and Lonis quickly called.
Jesse Lonis: K♣J♦9♥7♣
Sean Rafael: A♣J♣10♠9♠
Lonis was ahead with two pair, although the 10♣ turn gave Rafael a lot of outs to bust Lonis. Nothing came for Rafael on the 4♥ river and Lonis earned the double-up with two pair.

Biao Ding made it 35,000 under the gun with Eelis Parssinen calling on the button, Ville Wahlbeck calling out of the small blind, and Marcus Dieleman defending his big blind.
The action checked to Parssinen on the Q♥10♣J♠ flop, and he bet out for 40,000. Only Dieleman continued with a call.
The 9♥ rolled off on the turn and Dieleman check-called another bet from Parssinen, this time for 160,000.
Both players checked the 8♦ river and Dieleman took down the pot with A♣K♠9♣7♦ for nut straight.

Sean Rafael limped from the small blind and Raphael Schreiner checked his option out of the big blind.
Both players checked the 7♥A♠4♥ flop to see the 5♥ appear on the turn. Rafael checked, and Schreiner bet 12,000. Rafael check-raised to 40,000, which Schreiner called.
The 8♣ river saw Rafael bet the pot for around 120,000, and Schreiner immediately call. Rafael showed the nut flush with A♥10♣6♥3♦, and the pot was sent to him.
