Another Double For Antonius

Level 17 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

On the next hand at this table after Patrik Antonius doubled up off Daniel Rezaei, Rezaei opened again to 100,000 in the hijack and Alexey Borovkov called in the cutoff. Jessica Teusl also called on the button, but Antonius then moved all in for 1,065,000 in the small blind. Rezaei reshoved, and Borovkov and Teusl got out of the way.

Patrik Antonius: AK All in
Daniel Rezaei: AQ

Antonius had Rezaei domniated and was poised for another double up as the flop came J98, giving Rezaei some outs with a straight draw. The turn was the 3, while the K river improved Antonius to two pair as Rezaei handed over another pot to the Hall of Famer.

In a blind versus blind battle, Raphael Schreiner bet 165,000 on a board of 2793 before Parahat Nurmuhammedov moved all in. Schreiner called for his last 500,000.

Schreiner showed 96 for top pair, but Nurmuhammedov had turned two pair with 73 to take the lead. The river was the A and Schreiner was sent to the rail.

Nurmuhammedov Gets a Full Double With Top Pair

Level 16 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Heads-up to the turn on a board of A4510. Hassan Nashar checked from middle position and faced a bet of 225,000 by Parahat Nurmuhammedov out of the hijack. Nashar called to see a river.

The 10 completed the board, and once Nashar checked, Nurmuhammedov shoved for 415,000. Nashar did some inventory of his stack and then slammed in the call.

Nurmuhammedov tabled AQ for a pair of aces, and it was good to earn him a double-up and Nasher showed KK.

Birizdo Heads For an Early Shower

Level 16 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Istvan Birizdo
Istvan Birizdo

When it folded to Istvan Birizdo in the small blind, he raised to 130,000. Kenar peeked at his cards in the big blind and then jammed, covering Birizdo. Birizdo snap-called for his stack of 800,000, and the cards were tabled.

Istvan Birizdo: QQ All in
Kenar: A9

If Birizdo's two queens could hold up, he would have the perfect start to Day 2 of the Main Event.

Kenar picked up some additional outs on the 956 flop by pairing his nine. A 6 rolled off on the turn, meaning only an ace or nine on the river would end Birizdo's day early.

The dealer burned the card, then dropped the A on the river to give Kenar two pair, and Birizdo was out.
