Kirill Shcherbakov bet 100,000 from the cutoff on a flop of 2♥5♠6♣ before Yulian Bogdanov raised to 240,000 in the big blind. Shcherbakov called.
The turn was the K♥ and Bogdanov moved all in for 530,000. Shcherbakov used two time banks and eventually called with A♣Q♥, while Bogdanov had 7♥6♥ for a pair of sixes.
The river, though, was the Q♣ and Shcherbakov spiked a pair of queens to win the pot and send Bogdanov to the rail in 20th place.
Ottomar Ladva made it 100,000 to go from the cutoff and Quan Zhou three-bet to 370,000 out of the small blind. Ladva four-bet ripped it with the covering stack, and Zhou called for his stack of 2,000,000.
Quan Zhou: A♦K♠
Ottomar Ladva: Q♦Q♠
Both players held premium pocket hands, and it was Zhou that needed to connect with the runout to double up and survive.
The flop of 9♣4♠J♥ provided no help to Zhou, and neither did the 6♥ turn.
A 10♠ fell on the river, keeping Ladva's ladies as the best hand, and Zhou headed to the rail in 21st place.
Mikalai Vaskaboinikau raised to 100,000 under the gun, and Harout Ghazarian jammed for about 500,000 from the button. Vaskaboinikau snap-called when it got back to him.
Matthias Lipp raised to 100,000 in the cutoff, Patrik Antonius moved all in from the small blind, and Lipp called for 1,290,000.
Matthias Lipp: K♠K♥
Patrik Antonius: 7♣7♠
Lipp had Antonius crushed with his kings, and the board ran out 9♠Q♦5♦3♦6♥ to earn him the double up.
Lipp disputed the dealer's count of his stack and went to recount it himself, but it turned out the dealer was correct. "Good news for me," Antonius joked.
Geoffrey Mooney raised to 100,000 on the button and Daniel Rezaei called in the big blind.
The flop came 9♣K♦6♠ and Mooney continued for 125,000. Rezaei called, and the Q♣ fell on the turn.
Mooney then bet 250,000, and Rezaei moved all in for 600,000. Mooney snap-called with K♥10♠ for top pair, while Rezaei had 10♦7♥ for a straight draw. The 5♦ river was no help to Rezaei, and he was sent to the rail.
A three-way all-in just occurred on Table #2, with Elias Gutierrez having the chance to bust Aren Bezhanyan and Alexandre Reard.
Alexandre Reard: 2♠2♦
Aren Bezhanyan: 5♦5♥
Elias Gutierrez: A♣K♠
Bezhanyan's pair of fives stayed ahead on the J♥4♥9♣ flop, however, anA♦ on the turn changed that, as Gutierrez took a stranglehold on the hand with a pair of aces.
The 4♠ river didn't change anything, and Gutierrez scored the double knockout.
Badziakouski was slightly ahead with ace-high, although Nurmuhammedov had two live cards working for him.
Nurmuhammedov took the lead by pairing his ten on the 10♣7♣J♠ flop. Badziakouski hit a pair on the 6♣ turn, but he was unable to improve further after the 4♥ landed on the river.
Nurmuhammedov surpassed three million, while Badziakouski was out.
Patrik Antonius raised to 100,000 in middle position before Yulian Bogdanov moved all in for 580,000 in the hijack. Daniel Rezaei then reshoved for 1,275,000 in the small blind, and Antonius went deep into the tank until eventually folding.
Yulian Bogdanov: K♣Q♣
Daniel Rezaei: Q♥Q♠
"Tens?" Rezaei asked Antonius, who admitted he folded two nines. The flop came K♥4♣9♦ to give Bogdanov the lead with a pair of kings, while Antonius would've hit a set. The board ran out 7♠J♠ and Bogdanov doubled up, while Antonius lamented his lost opportunity for the double knockout.
"Nines always coming," Bogdanov told him.
At another table, a big pot was brewing between Parahat Nurmuhammedov and Boris Kolev on a board of 8♣J♠2♥6♦. According to tablemate Eyal Eshkar, Kolev had bet 85,000 from under the gun on the flop, Nurmuhammedov raised to 290,000 in the small blind, and Kolev called.
Nurmuhammedov bet another 600,000 on the turn, and Kolev again called. The river was the 8♠ and Nurmuhammedov bet 350,000. Kolev then moved all in, and Nurmuhammedov turned over A♦J♦ and tossed it into the muck.
"Three jacks every time. Easy game," Daniil Kiselev added.
With just a few chips behind, Artur Martirosian got all-in from the big blind after Biao Ding raised the button.
Artur Martirosian: 9♠4♥
Biao Ding: A♣3♠
Martirosian fell even further behind on the 6♥A♠5♥ flop as Ding paired his ace. Martirosian picked up a straight draw when the 3♦ hit the turn, however, the 6♠ to complete the board was a brick, and Martirosian was the next player to venture toward the exit.
