Borovkov Makes a Big Fold to Teusl

In a battle between the blinds, Alexey Borovkov bet 110,000 on a flop of K♥5♣8♥ and Jessica Teusl called.

Both players checked the K♣ turn. Borovkov then bet 325,000 on the 4♣ river, but this time Teusl came back with a raise to 1,600,000.

Borovkov tanked for a few minutes before folding, later admitting he had six-seven for a straight.

Daniil Kiselev raised to 160,000 from the cutoff and Thomas Eychenne jammed for 295,000 from the small blind. Parahat Nurmuhammedov moved in over the top for 2,000,000 out of the big blind, and after a long tank, Kiselev slammed in the call to try and score the double knockout.

Eychenne took the lead on the K♦10♦5♦ flop by hitting two pair, and was now in a great position to triple up as no one held a diamond.

But, the J♥ rolled off on the turn to give Kiselev a Broadway straight. The 9♣ completed the board, which meant Nurmuhammedov and Eychenne were gone from the Main Event.

The Spanish video team sprung into action as Elias Gutierrez moved all in for 400,000 under the gun. The rest of the table folded around to Jessica Teusl, who snap-called out of the big blind.

The Q♠Q♦3♦ flop was a disaster for Gutierrez as Teusl hit trips. "Difficult to win," Mikalai Vaskaboinikau told Gutierrez, and the 7♣ turn left him drawing dead. The river was the 8♥ and Gutierrez was sent to the rail in 16th place.

Vaskaboinikau Picks Up Another Monster, Gutierrez Gets Shorter

Mikalai Vaskaboinikau raised to 160,000 in the cutoff and Elias Gutierrez called in the big blind.

The flop came A♣A♥J♥ and Vaskaboinikau bet 125,000. Gutierrez called, and they both checked the 7♥ turn.

Vaskaboinikau then bet 225,000 on the 4♠ river, and Gutierrez called. Vaskaboinikau turned over K♦K♠ to win the pot.

"Kings, aces, kings," tablemate Jessica Teusl said to him after the hand.

Eyal Eshkar raised to 120,000 from the cutoff before Joni Jouhkimainen three-bet the button to 330,000. Mikalai Vaskaboinikau cold four-bet to 700,000 from the small blind, which forced Eshkar out. Jouhkimainen five-bet ripped it for 2,000,000, and Vaskaboinikau called with just a few chips more.

This flip was pivotal to both players' future in the Main Event, and it was Vaskaboinikau that took a commanding lead by flopping top pair and a flush draw on the 10♠A♣9♠ flop.

Jouhkimainen got back one of his outs on the 9♣ turn, but the 2♥ was a total brick.

Jouhkimainen headed to play the PLO, and Vaskaboinika's stack grew to over four million.

Kenar raised to 120,000 under the gun and Fahredin Mustafov three-bet the button to 300,000. Kenar elected to call and the two players saw a flop of Q♣10♦10♣.

Kenar started with a check and Mustafov bet 170,000. Kenar called and the 9♦ arrived on the turn, causing both players to check.

When the 7♥ dropped on the river, Kenar took a few moments before jamming for Mustafov's remaining 600,000 or so. Mustafov quickly called and Kenar flipped over a straight with K♠J♠. This was enough to win him the pot and bust the defending champ Mustafov, who turned over A♠Q♠ for a pair of queens.
