Shornikau had found aces at exactly the right time and looked poised to double up to more than seven figures.

However, the dealer had other ideas, as the 9♥5♣Q♣ flop catapulted Badziakouski into the lead with middle set.

Shornikau picked up a flush draw on the 6♣ turn, although the 3♦ river was a brick, and his stack was sent across the table to Badziakouski.

Shornikau's king-high was ahead, and he just needed Ponakovs to miss the board to double up to almost 20 big blinds.

That is exactly what happened, as neither player improved on the J♦5♣4♠8♥3♠ runout, and Shornikau kept his seat in the Premiere.

The A♥3♠10♣ flop checked to Nurmuhammedov, who elected to bet 80,000. Shornikau folded, but Ponakovs check-raised to 255,000. Nurmuhammedov snap-folded, surrendering the pot to Ponakovs.
