Wang Climbs into Second

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Yang Wang has won two back-to-back hands to climb into second place in the chip counts. The first saw Wang push Albert Paik off a hand to win without showdown and the second saw a blind on blind battle between Ivan Leow and Wang.

It was Leow the initial aggressor, making it 80,000 to go pre-flop from the small blind with Wang calling in the big blind. The {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}{a-Spades} flop saw the action go check, check. Leow also checked the {6-Clubs} turn and Wang took down the pot with an 80,000 bet.

Wenling Gao Eliminated in 4th Place (HKD $400,000)

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Wenling Gao
Wenling Gao

The first hand back after the break was the last Wenling Gao would play in the OPC High Roller. Yang Wang moved all-in from the button and Gao made a speedy call for her tournament life.

Wenling Gao: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Yang Wang: {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

While Gao had the best hand the poker gods were in a fickle mood and the board ran out {4-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts} to give Wang a flush and bring Gao's final table to a close.

Leow Leads Going into Break

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

For a while there it looked as though Albert Paik might catch Ivan Leow, but that is no longer the case with the two playing a big pot before going off on a 10-minute break.

Leow, holding {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} flopped a set of tens and got Paik to pay him off, with the US player mucking as soon as Leow turned over his hand on the river.

Paik Makes Thin Call, Gao Doubles Again

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Yang Wang and Albert Paik got into it in a blind versus blind hand, with Wang bluffing the river with a missed flush draw and getting picked off by Paik with bottom pair, which was a three if you were wondering, and Paik is almost within touching distance of Ivan Leow now.

Then Wang shoved the button with {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Wenling Gao made the call for her tournament life with {8-Spades}{9-Clubs}.
The runout was {2-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs} to give Gao another double and see Wang drop some more chips.

Gao Doubles But Still Short, Paik Wins From Leow

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Wenling Gao got the last of her chips in with {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} from the big blind for the second time, but this time it was not a race against small blind Albert Paik's {8-Clubs}{2-Spades}.

While Paik paired his deuce, the runout was a kind one for sevens this time around, coming out {10-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} to give Gao the double, though she is still perilously short.

Ivan Leow and Albert Paik played a pot shortly afterward that saw the later make a straight and set a trap, but Leow did not trigger it. It was Leow who raised pre-flop, making it 55,000 to go on the button, with Paik defending from the big blind. The flop came down {5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and saw Paik check-call Leow's continuation-bet.

The {3-Spades} turn saw the action go check, check, as did the {9-Hearts} river, much to Paik's disappointment with the US player turning over {7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} to win the pot.

Wang Cripples Gao

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Chips are changing hands with a great deal of frequency, and that trend continued when Wenling Gao open-shoved the button and was called quickly by big blind Yang Wang.

Yang Wang: {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Wenling Gao: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

Gao, whose nickname is 'Happy' we have recently discovered, looked anything but when the board ran out {q-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{k-Hearts}{a-Clubs} to award Wang the pot and see Gao left with around three big blinds.

Paik Makes a Boat

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

We caught the tail end of a hand between Albert Paik and Yang Wang in a blind on blind battle that turned nasty for the latter. With the board reading {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{5-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs} Wang had checked the river over to Paik, who had bet 120,000. Wang made the call, but quickly folded when Paik rolled over {7-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for a full house.

Pushing and Shoving

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

There is a great deal of pushing, shoving and walking going on right now, and the stacks have not changed all that much as three of the four remaining players jockey for position in an attempt to catch Ivan Leow, but so far, the status quo continues.
