Maurice Minor Now Maurice Major

Maurice Whelan has gone nuts, not literally, like screaming about badgers and dressing as a wheelie-bin, but he's managed to turn his 6,000 into almost 200,000 in about 15 minutes.

He was all-in once more with {K-Clubs} {9-Hearts} against Tom Hanlon's {K-Spades} {8-Diamonds} and won once more on an {A-Hearts} {9-Spades} {4-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {10-Diamonds}.

With just 3,000, Hanlon exited on the very next hand.

Free Whelan Or Freerolling?

It's yo-yo time for Maurice Whelan, he opened for 33,000 with about 70,000 behind and Declan Connolly pushed. Whelan tanked for ages before calling with {2-Clubs} {2-Spades}, a strange raise-induce we thought but he was ahead, barely against {A-Spades} {K-Clubs}.

The board came {A-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {5-Spades} {Q-Spades} {Q-Hearts} to the delight of the Connolly fan club and Whelan was left with 6,000.

This went in next hand where his {K-?} {9-?} held in a three-way pot and he trebled through. He then chopped {A-?} {5-?} against {A-?} {6-?} to win a few more antes.

After this he was all-in with {A-Hearts} {4-Hearts} against Tom Hanlon's {A-Clubs} {5-Clubs} and somehow manage to win when the board came {2-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {3-Spades} {J-Spades} {5-Hearts} before getting all-in again with {K-?} {Q-?} against {K-?} {Q-?} for another chopped pot.

He's now back up to about 85,000.

Richie Rich

Alan Trueick
Alan Trueick
Having doubled up Marty Wilson just moments earlier, Alan Truick himself was all in soon after, his {K-Diamonds}{9-Spades} in piping hot water against Richard Robinson's {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}.

"And the flop is..." started Marty Wilson, inexplicably offering his commentary.

"{10-Spades}{K-Clubs}{6-Spades}"

"Big Al needs to catch a king."

Turn: {A-Diamonds}

"Oh my God!"

River: {6-Diamonds}

"Give him a big round of applause, everyone."

"I can't get a word in edge ways," mumbled the disgruntled T.D. as the crowd dispersed.
