Win With Wilson

Sunday Night Fever
Sunday Night Fever
'Mad' Marty has been living up to his name of late, but I believe it's little more than a reflection of how much he wants to final table this event.

If you couldn't hear the commotion from the live feed - although I expect you could hear, at least, the odd shout - let me fill you in.

Short-stacked and in need of a double through, Wilson was all in with {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} versus the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} of Alan Trueick.

The room was rather quiet as the dealer reached for the pack, but as a couple of players wished Wilson good luck, the man from Wolverhampton shouted at the top of his voice, "Come on, Marty! Come on, Marty!"

Armed with his avid self-support, he headed towards the flop: {4-Clubs}{10-Spades}{A-Clubs}. "I've dodged the flop!" he screamed. "I've dodged the flop!" As he stepped back, he almost tripped over a table amid the excitement.

Turn: {7-Hearts}

"One more card! One more card!"

River: {5-Hearts}

"Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah!"

Marty Wilson, the Hevad Khan of the Midlands, doubles through to 210,000.

We're Not Worthy...

It's just not Tyler Bonkowski's level. Steven Noseworthy just pushed in early postion for his last 80,000 or so and Bonkowski reraised all-in from the small blind.

Noseworthy: {A-Spades} {A-Clubs}
Bonkowski: {Q-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}

{6-Spades} {5-Clubs} {5-Spades} {9-Clubs} {10-Hearts} was the board and Bonkowski takes another hit.

Finnished

Janne-Q and goodnight.
Janne-Q and goodnight.
Janne Nevalainen has been knocked out, pushing with {J-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} from the button and Nik Persaud making a call with the dominating {K-Diamonds} {J-Spades}.

The flop came {Q-Spades} {2-Spades} {6-Spades} and already the Finn was getting his coat. On the {10-Clubs} turn Nevalainen shouted, "Nine!" before realising it wouldn't be any use. Persaud almost had a heart attack on the river before seeing it was the {7-Clubs} and not an eight.

24 players remain.

Yelps of Excitement

I nearly jumped out of my bones, nevermind my skin as the commentary team on the neighbouring table yelped in excitement. But their screams were justified...

It was the two Bens all in, both under the limelight of the feature table. UK legend Roberts had his man dominated, {K-?}{K-?} in formidable shape against the {A-Spades}{K-Spades} of Juhasz.

The flop came a safe {9-?}{8-?}{7-?}, but the river was the {A-?}! Roberts looked dejected; Juhasz didn't move an inch.

But it wasn't over yet, as the river came the case {K-?} for a miraculous redraw!! Even the Gentleman, who has likely seen every board imaginable during his many years in the game, seemed somewhat taken aback.

Juhasz is therefore out in 26th.

Travesty For Amby

Tom Hanlon has doubled up through Amby Travers with {K-Spades} {K-Hearts} against {A-Spades} {9-Spades}. A board of {J-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} {J-Hearts} didn't help either player and Hanlon is up to about 150,000. Travers drops to 180,000.
