Joe Cassidy has yet to show up to Day 3. He showed up late to Day 2 and even registered in the last level on Day 1b. Some extra sleep never hurt anyone, unless your short stacked like Cassidy is.

Here Comes Day 3

Manig Loeser
Manig Loeser

Welcome back for Day 3 of the 2010 Full Tilt Poker Merit Cyprus Classic Main Event. If today is anything like yesterday, we're in for a lot of fun on the felt.

The field has been cut down to 45 players and only 18 of them will make the money. The bubble should burst today as the plan is to play six levels or until the final 10 players are left, whichever comes first. Manig Loeser heads the pack for Day 3 with 337,000 chips. He's the only player above 300,000, but there are a group of players not too far behind including Chris Karagulleyan (275,700), Kerem Kiyak (270,900) and Zsolt Vasvenszki (260,800).

Plenty of the big names dropped yesterday. Chino Rheem, John Racener, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi, Antonio Esfandiari and Sorel Mizzi all hit the rail, as well as the beautiful Jennifer "Jennicide" Leigh. Those still left include Van Marcus, Bruno Stefanelli, David Benyamine, Kelly Kim and John Dolan.

Play kicks off at 2:00 pm local time and that's jus a short while away. PokerNews will be live from the tournament floor then. Stay tuned!
