The Lebanese Cowboy Falls Off His Horse

Joseph El Khoury
Joseph El Khoury

Joseph El Khoury was eliminated by David Benyamine. According to one of the players at the table, Khoury, who was short stacked, moved in with {A-}{Q-} and Benyamine called with {K-}{10-}. A king spiked for Benyamine and he sent Khoury to the rail.

Khoury cashed in this event last year, but would fall short of back-to-back cashes this year.

More for Kim

Kelly Kim may have to start looking into some real estate on the island of Cyprus if he can continue this run and put together another deep run here. He just won another sizable pot from Mathieu Clavet and is up to 302,000 in chips.

Kim raised from the cutoff and Clavet called from the button. The flop came down {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and both players checked to see the {K-Diamonds} fall on the turn. Kim fired 11,500 and Clavet raised to 25,500. Kim made the call.

The final card on board was the {4-Diamonds} and Kim checked. Clavet fired 15,000. Kim check-raised to 50,000 and Clavet paid him off.

Kim held the {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} for the nut flush and won the pot. Clavet dropped back to 475,000 in chips.

Pettas Knocks Out Kongsgaard

Soren Kongsgaard
Soren Kongsgaard

Soren Kongsgaard raised to 9,500 from early position. Foivos Pettas reraised to 30,000 from the hijack seat and then action folded back to Kongsgaard and he moved all in. Pettas insta-called with two kings. Kongsgaard held the {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{3-Clubs}{4-Spades}{7-Spades} and there was nothing there for Kongsgaard. He was eliminated as Pettas moved to 370,000 in chips.

Khalil Doubles

Antoine Abou Khalil
Antoine Abou Khalil

Action was four ways to the flop, which came down {7-Hearts}{5-}{4-Hearts}. All four players checked to see a {Q-} roll off on the turn. Antoine Abou Khalil, who gave us the action on this hand, bet out before Yonghui Jiang moved all in. The two others folded and Khalil made the call and was all in, holding a set of fives. Jiang held {Q-}{4-} for a turned two pair.

The river was a {9-} and allowed Khalil to double up and moved to 150,000 in chips.

Dolan Busts

John Dolan - Eliminated
John Dolan - Eliminated

Our last remaining November Niner, John Dolan, was just eliminated. After doubling up Kelly Kim and being left with just about 11,000, John Dolan was all in with {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades} against Andreas Krause's {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}. The board came down {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, ending Dolan's tournament.

Dolan ran deep in both the Main Event and High Roller Freeze-Out, just missing the money in both. We'll surely be seeing and hearing a lot of him in the next few months leading up to the WSOP Final Table.

Krause is up to about 145,000.

Beautiful Cyprus

Busting out of a tournament usually makes people hate poker. Here in Cyprus, that feeling only lasts for a few hundred yards until the players are beyond the casino walls where they have the gorgeous Cyprus to look forward to. After a short while in the tank, Mirzachi called all in for 77,500 with {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}, leading Clavet's {A-Hearts}{6-Spades}. The board ran out {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds}, securing the double for Mizrachi. He is up to about 165,000 while Clavet still has a very healthy 530,000.

Krause Triples with Aces

Andreas Krause
Andreas Krause

Waiting patiently for a hand has paid off for Andreas Krause.

After Manig Loeser raised from under the gun to 10,500, Krause moved all in for 38,500 in the next seat. Kelly Kim called from the seat after that and then Loeser tossed in a call as well.

The flop, turn and river were {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts} as Loeser and Kim checked the entire way. Krause tabled the {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} while Kim and Loeser both held {A-}{K-}. Krause earned the triple up and now has about 120,000 in chips.
