Mascagni Moves Up, Tracy Tumbles

Joseph Tracy after losing chips to Coury Mascagni
Joseph Tracy after losing chips to Coury Mascagni

A lengthy hand just played out between Joseph Tracy and Coury Mascagni, with the result being a major chip swing.

The hand began with Mascagni opening for 25,000 from the button, then Tracy reraised to 60,000 from the big blind and Mascagni called. The flop came {3-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{7-Spades}, and Tracy led for 75,000. Mascagni called.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds}, and when Tracy checked this time, Mascagni considered for a minute or so before setting out a column of chips for a bet to 140,000. Tracy hesitated for a bit, then announced he was check-raising all in and Mascagni called immediately for 484,000 total.

Tracy had {Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a flush draw, while Mascagni had {K-Clubs}{J-Spades} for top pair of kings. The river was the {K-Spades}, and Mascagni has chipped up over a million while Tracy plunges down to seventh of seven at the moment.

Timothy Chang Eliminated in 7th Place ($20,250)

Timothy Chang - 7th place
Timothy Chang - 7th place

On the last hand of the level, Timothy Chang open-raised all in for 225,000 from under the gun and picked up a single caller in William Tonking playing from the button.

Chang had {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and was in good shape before the community cards came versus Tonking's {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. But the flop rolled out {5-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} to give Tonking a set of tens and the lead. Chang still had flush hopes, but the turn was the {K-Clubs} and the river the {5-Clubs}, and just six players will be returning from dinner.

A Few for Pham

On the first hand back from the break, Coury Mascagni raised from middle position and won the blinds and antes. Then on the second Joseph Tracy opened with an all-in push from middle position, and everyone folded again.

On the third hand, it folded to Chris Klodnicki in the cutoff who raised to 32,000, then Edward Pham reraised to 77,000 from the button. The blinds folded, and Klodnicki called.

Both checked the {5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop and {2-Hearts} turn. The river was the {Q-Clubs} and Klodnicki checked again. Pham bet 80,000 this time, and Klodnicki folded.

Presto! Tracy Doubles

William Tonking raised to 32,000 from the button, then Joseph Tracy reraised all in for 256,000 total from the small blind. Chris Klodnicki stepped aside, and Tonking called Tracy's push.

Tonking showed {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} while Tracy had the hand called "presto" — {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}, the turn the {8-Clubs}, and the river the {K-Diamonds}, and Tracy's fives held.

Joseph Tracy Eliminated in 6th Place ($23,000)

Joseph Tracy - 6th place
Joseph Tracy - 6th place

Chris Klodnicki began the hand with a minimum-raise to 32,000 from under the gun, then Edward Pham made it 77,000 from middle position. It folded back around to Joseph Tracy in the big blind and after a pause to consider the situation Tracy four-bet to 171,000. Klodnicki looked things over himself for a short while before folding, then Pham took about a half-minute before calling.

The flop brought three big cards — {Q-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} — and Tracy responded by pushing all in for about 430,000. Pham didn't take too long before calling, and Tracy flipped over {K-Spades}{6-Hearts} for a pair of kings. Meanwhile Pham tabled {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades} for a set of aces, and after the {6-Clubs} turn and {8-Hearts} river, Tracy was on the rail.

Pham is still organizing his chips, but he appears to have around 1.5 million or so, a stack challenging Klodnicki's for the lead with five players remaining.

Pham Earns a Fold, Grabs Lead

Edward Pham
Edward Pham

William Tonking opened for 32,000 from the cutoff and picked up three callers in Chris Klodnicki (button), Edward Pham (small blind), and Richard Allen (big blind).

The quartet saw the flop come {A-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Spades}, and it checked to Tonking who bet 69,000. Klodnicki raised to 150,000, and Edward Pham called the raise from a seat over before both Allen and Tonking folded.

The turn brought the {6-Spades} and a leading bet of 200,000 from Pham. Klodnicki considered for nearly a minute before finally raising his eyebrows and shrugging slightly as he folded his hand.

Pham has now grabbed the chip lead from Klodnicki with about half an hour left in Level 22.
