Pandya Cracks Gilbert's Aces

Preflop action left four players still in the hand when the first three community cards came {4-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Konstantinos Angelos (small blind) checked, then Jim Gilbert (big blind) bet 3,000. Michael Kemeter (middle position) called Gilbert's bet, then Ketan Pandya (late position) raised to 8,000.

Angelos stepped aside, but Gilbert came back with a reraise to 48,000 total. Kemeter folded, but Pandya called with the 32,575 he had left.

Gilbert showed {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} for an overpair. However, Pandya had flopped a set with his {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}. The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and river the {K-Spades}, and Pandya has chipped up over 100,000.

Chadha-Villamarin Busts Bianco

With the board reading {K-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts}{J-Hearts}, Ben Bianco and Carlos Chadha-Villamarin went back and forth with a few raises, culminating with Bianco all in with {9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. Chadha-Villamarin was ahead with {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and took it down when the {5-Diamonds} hit the river.

Chadha-Villamarin entered (and busted) twice yesterday, but is off to a fine start on Day 1b.

Hoynowski Out

Anthony Messina just took the last of Matthew Hoynowski's chips in a hand that saw the latter push his short stack all in on a {J-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop, Messina reraise all in behind, and a third player stepping aside. Messina had {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}, better than Hoynowski's {K-Clubs}{J-Spades}, and when the turn and river came {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}, Hoynowski was out.

Quads for Fratzola

Frank Fratzola
Frank Fratzola

A big three-way hand to report here at the start of Level 3, one involving Frank Fratzola, Kenneth Longacre, and Michael Raymond.

With the board showing {J-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, Longacre had bet 1,700 and Raymond raised to 5,000. The action was on Fratzola, and while he was in the tank Longacre accidentally set out the calling chips out of turn, not realizing Fratzola hadn't acted. Fratzola then called, and Longacre called as well.

The turn brought the {5-Spades} and when Longacre checked, Raymond declared he was all in for the 46,000-plus he had left. Fratzola called all in for less, and after some thought Longacre let his hand go.

Raymond showed {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for top pair plus both flush and straight draws, while Fratzola tabled {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} for a set of jacks. The river then brought the {J-Spades} to give Fratzola quads and the hand.
