Pahuja Doubles

Vinny Pahuja
Vinny Pahuja

Vinny Pahuja just earned a needed double-up here at the start of Level 10. After Pajuha had opened with a raise to 2,500, he saw an opponent reraise to 6,000 from the button. Pahuja reraised again almost all in, his opponent shoved, and Pahuja called.

Pahuja was in good shape with {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades} versus his opponent's {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}, and when the board rolled out nine-high — {3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts} — Pahuja had survived.

Tran, Palmeroni Out

Anthony Messina lands a knockout punch
Anthony Messina lands a knockout punch

Theo Tran has been eliminated here near the end of the night. He'd been felted earlier in the day by J.J. Palmeroni, had re-entered, then saw his tourney run end for good just now.

Palmeroni would follow Tran to the rail shortly thereafter in a three-way hand with Anthony Messina and Jeanette Baudouy.

Preflop action over at Table 33 saw Palmeroni all in with his short stack, Messina almost all in as well, and Baudouy having both players covered.

There had been a little confusion regarding the sequence of betting — Messina had apparently tried to declare himself all in out of turn — but after the floor was called and all was resolved, the flop was dealt {3-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{K-Spades}.

Baudouy checked, Messina pushed his last chips in, and Baudouy called.

Palmeroni: {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Baudouy: {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}
Messina: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

The turn was the {5-Clubs} and river the {7-Clubs}, Messina's queens held, and Palmeroni was out.

McColgan Picks Off D'Angelo's Bluff

Picking up the action in a three-handed pot with the board reading {8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, the player in the big blind checked to Kevin McColgan who bet 2,400. Ryan D'Angelo was the lone caller to see the {6-Hearts} turn which McColgan bet 5,300 at. D'Angelo called again, landing the {2-Hearts} river.

McColgan slowed down and checked this time, leading to a D'Angelo bet of 15,500 after about two minutes. McColgan mulled it over for about 60 seconds before calling.

D'Angelo tabled {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for a missed straight draw, while McColgan turned over {A-Spades}{A-Hearts} to take down the pot.

McColgan Chipping Up

Kevin McColgan opened to 2,000 on the button and was called by the player in the big blind.

The flop came down {Q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and McColgan's opponent check-called 1,700 to see the {10-Clubs} turn. It was checked to McColgan again who bet 3,500, but was faced with a raise to 8,000. A call from McColgan landed the {7-Hearts} river where his opponent bet 5,000.

McColgan called with {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}, besting his opponent's {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}.
