An Unfavorable Turn for Sluzinski

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Following a limp in the cutoff, Jeff Sluzinski raised to 7,200 from the button. The blinds folded, but the cutoff came along as the dealer spread a {J-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop.

The cutoff checked, and Sluzinski bet out 8,800. His opponent deliberated for close to two minutes before calling as the turn landed the {6-Spades}. The cutoff moved all in for 26,400, and Sluzinski called to put his opponent at risk.

Sluzinski: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Opponent: {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

With Sluzinski's opponent getting lucky on the turn to strike a two-outer, Sluzinski would need to do the same on the river.

Unfortunately for Sluzinski, the river landed the {J-Diamonds}, and he doubled his opponent and dropped to 39,600 in the process.

Greg Kelley Down, Then Out

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Greg Kelley
Greg Kelley

Greg Kelley opened to 4,500 in the cutoff and the small blind three-bet to 11,200. Kelley called and the dealer dropped a {2-}{5-}{7-} flop which was met with a bet of 9,800 from the small blind.

Kelley raised to 25,000 leaving himself about the same behind before the small blind pushed all in. Kelley folded, and was down to around 25,000.

The following hand, facing a raise, Kelley pushed all in from the hijack for 25,000 holding {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}. The small blind woke up with {A-}{K-} and made the call as the initial raiser folded.

Unfortunately for Kelley, there was no love on the flop, turn, or river, and he was eliminated from the tournament.
