Lee Has the Nuts; Busts Tian

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

On the tail end of a hand between Hao Tian in the big blind and Daniel Lee in early position, the former checked the {j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs} river. There were 21,000 in the middle and Tian had 22,000 behind while Lee pushed for 28,000.

Tian tanked for several minutes and called to get shown {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for the nut flush. Tian mucked and one player inquired to see them as it was an all-in showdown. The dealer picked up the cards from close to the muck and revealed {7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} for a pair of treys.

Day 1b Registration Closed; 1c Underway

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Several familiar faces headed to Day 1c as they had been eliminated in the previous flight and no further players can enter Day 1b as level 10 is underway. An unofficial field size of 444 entries has been whittled down to 230 hopefuls so far while Day 1c kicked off with around 42 entries.

Chen An Lin was eliminated not long ago and could still re-enter, he received the very same seat for the second bullet.

Final Break of Day 1b

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

There are 245 players out of 443 entries remaining after the end of level nine and the players have been sent on a 15-minute break. When they return, the lat registration will close and those to depart after can enter Day 1c that kicks off in under 20 minutes.

Bawoo Yun was denied the chance to re-enter Day 1b when his chip and a chair story with {a-Diamonds}{2-Spades} against the {a-Spades}{j-Hearts} of Robbie Schiffbauer brought four diamonds on the board. He was forced all in for 400 chips the next hand and hit two pair with {6-Spades}{4-Clubs} versus {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}.

Newey Among the Chip Leaders

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Paul Newey bet the heads-up turn of {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for 9,000 into a pot of 17,000 when he was on the button and the cutoff had checked. Once the call followed, the cutoff checked the {6-Spades} turn and folded to a bet of 35,000.

Newey bumped his stack to nearly 200,000 and appears to be among the chip leaders.

Zhang Two-Outers Soyza

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Facing a raise to 2,200, Yang Zhang three-bet to 16,600 with one T-100 chip behind on the button and Michael Soyza in the small blind moved all in. The initial raiser folded and Zhang grabbed his last chip with a grin on the face and the words "maybe I should fold," then called all in.

Yang Zhang: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}
Michael Soyza: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

Zhang nailed the {j-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop and Soyza remarked "you can still fold" which caused laughter at the table. The {10-Clubs} turn and {10-Diamonds} river blanked and Zhang doubled. He now also faces Liuheng Dai on the same table who was his nemesis in the heads-up duel for the High Roller title in the previous night.
