Prevost Flops It, Then Rivers It, Then Busts Following Hand

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

After an early position, Ed Prevost limped from the cutoff before the button player raised to 2,400. Both other players made the call to see {k-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs} on the flop.

It checked to Prevost, and he bet 5,000. The button raised all-in, and after the other player folded, Prevost called with a larger stack. Prevost was playing {k-Hearts}{5-Hearts} versus the {k-Clubs}{q-Spades} of his opponent.

{q-Hearts} on the river looked to counterfiet two pairs as it gave his opponent the bigger two pair, but the {5-Spades} river sealed for Prevost and the pot gave him around 80,000.

However, in th every next hand, Prevost got a flopped set of kings in against the flush draw of Joseph Dumas, and Dumas got there with a larger stack to bust Prevost and vault into the chip lead with around 180,000.

Dunham's River Barrel Does It

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Tim Dunham kicked things off with a limp from middle position before the hijack came over top for 3,000. Action folded back to Dunham and he made the call.

Dunham led out for 4,000 on the {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} flop, and his opponent called. They both checked the {10-Hearts} turn, but when Dunham fired 6,000 on the river, his opponent mucked his cards, and sent the pot Dunham's way.

Woloshyn Wins it on the Turn

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Kyle Woloshyn
Kyle Woloshyn

Kyle Woloshyn was first into the pot with a raise to 2,500 from the hijack. It folded around to the big blind, who made the call.

Both players checked the flop of {3-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}, but when the big blind checked to him on the {j-Clubs} turn, Woloshyn bet 2,000, enough to force a fold from his opponent.

Level: 11

Dinner Break

Level 10 : 400/800, 800 ante

Players are off for an hour's break while they partake in the supplied buffet dinner. Action returns in an hour for Level 11 with blinds at 500/1000/1000. Once dinner break is complete, there will be six more levels in the day.

Norlander's Eights Hold

Level 10 : 400/800, 800 ante

Trevor Norlander opened the action from middle position with a raise to 1,600. Kimberly McClymont shoved for 12,475 from the next seat over, and it folded back to Norlander.

Norlander tanked for half a minute or so before he elected to put in the call. His pocket eights were marginally ahead of the {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} of McClymont, but when he flopped a set on the {4-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts}{j-Clubs} board, it was all over. McClymont turned chop outs, but they never came in, and she was done for the day.

Total Entries Surpass 2018's Day 1a Number

Level 10 : 400/800, 800 ante

The numbers have all been crunched, and a total of 143 entries were recorded for Day 1a this year. That tops last year's total of 134 by nine entries, and bodes well for the final prize pool tomorrow.

Prize pool numbers will have to wait until the end of registration tomorrow, but its already looking like the pool will be deep.
