Higuchi Takes One Out

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

At the end of the previous level, Kota Higuchi raised to 1,400 from under the gun and was called by the players in the middle position and hijack. The player in the cutoff shoved for 12,500 and action folded back to Higuchi. He decided to shove for 27,100 in total for the two other players to fold.

Cutoff: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Kota Higuchi: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

The flop came {3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{a-Spades} for the cutoff to hit top pair.

The turn was the {2-Clubs} which didn't change things but the {k-Hearts} on the river meant that Higuchi improved to a set to eliminate his opponent who quickly made his way out of the tournament area.

Quads for Kuang to Bust Alner

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Tom Alner's seat is empty and Lehua Kuang was the one responsible for this fact.

Apparently Alner had shoved on the button with {a-}{j-} after getting back down to around 10,000 and was called by Lehua Kuang in the big blind who held {k-}{j-}.

The board ran out {k-}{k-}{k-}{x-}{x-} to give Kuang quads, in the end, to send the two-time champion to the rail.
