The 2025 Bar Poker Open Vegas World Championship will return to the Golden Nugget this summer, and PokerNews will have full coverage!
The action includes the $365 Vegas World Championship and $1,000 Pro-Am events from June 8-13.
Last summer, Miguel “The Mountain” Medrano took down the title and top prize of $100,000. The 2025 edition will once again award $100,000 to the champion, part of the estimated $400,000 prize pool.
The exciting week of action will include multiple livestreaming events, a player party and celebrity charity poker tournament so don’t miss it!
Justin Carey raised to 32,000 in middle position and Dennis O'Hare called on his left. Jordan Fishman came along in the small blind before Ron Scott slid out a three-bet to 75,000 in the big blind.
Carey and Fishman called to see the Q♦6♦J♠ flop. Fishman checked and Scott continued for 100,000.
After taking some time, Carey announced all in for around 480,000. O'Hair quickly folded and Fishman asked for a rough count before sliding his cards into the muck.
Scott frustratingly moved his cards forward, folding as well as Carey raked in a sizeable pot.

On a flop of 10♠9♠3♦, Rob Garrett checked and Adam Johnson put out a bet. Garrett then sprung to life with an all-in check-raise to about 180,000 and Johnson hit the tank long and hard. Eventually he tossed in a call.
Rob Garrett: Q♣J♣
Adam Johnson: K♦Q♠
Johnson's hero call saw him get the chips in good, but Garrett did have an up-and-down straight draw. Unfortunately for him, both the turn and river were bricks to send Garrett out of the tournament in 17th place.

Mike LaMontagne raised to 25,000 from early position and snap-called after Glen Thompson moved all in for around 120,000 from the small blind.
Glen Thompson: K♠K♦
Mike LaMontagne: A♠A♥
It was the ultimate cooler and Thompson was on the bad end of it. He was looking to get lucky but that didn't happen as the board ran out a lackluster 7♣4♠Q♠3♠10♣ to send him out the door in 18th place.

The final 18 players have redrawn down to two tables and have been sent on their final 10-minute break of the night. When they return, the plan is to play down to either the final table or until 1 a.m. local time, whichever comes first.
Rob Guilbeault found himself all in for around 140,000 and at risk against Sam Journeay, who had a stack of approximately 200,000.
Rob Guilbeault: 7♠7♥
Sam Journeay: 10♠10♦
Guilbeault was in dire straits and watched as the board ran out 6♠Q♠A♠A♣4♠. Both players made a spade flush but Journeay's was best to send Guilbeault out in 19th place.
The remaining 18 players will now redraw down to the final two tables.

Rob Garrett opened to 25,000 and made the call after Dennis O'Hare moved all in from the big blind for 228,000.
Dennis O'Hare: A♠6♣
Rob Garrett: 8♠8♣
Garrett's pocket pair held through the 4♦Q♦5♥ flop and Q♥ turn, but O'Hare found held on the A♥ river to spike a double up.
