Arthur Rippy bet 1,400 from the cutoff on a flop of 5♠Q♣K♦ and Melanie Hennigan called in early position.
The turn was the 8♦ and Rippy bet 3,700. Hennigan called to see the 9♦ river, where Rippy bet 7,000. Hennigan, after taking some time to order a tea from a server, folded.
More than 5,000 was already in the pot as three players went to the turn on a board of J♥6♠9♠Q♠. Ronald Hunt then bet 1,500 from middle position, and Chad Loube raised to 6,000 in the cutoff. Paul Kratsas called in the big blind, as did Hunt.
All three players checked down the J♣ river, and Loube turned over A♠8♠ for a flush. "Does it hold?" tablemate Melanie Hennigan sakd, and both Kratsas and Hunt mucked.
"I was saying, please don't pair on the river," Loube said.
"The paired board didn't hurt you, though," the dealer replied.
"It hurt me inside," Loube added.
Clint Houck three-bet to 3,200 on the button and Joan Bousman called in the hijack.
Houck continued for 2,000 on the 5♠Q♠6♥ flop, and Bousman called. Bousman then led out for 2,200 on the 3♦ turn, and Houck called.
Bousman checked the 8♦ river, then quickly called when Houck bet 3,500. Houck showed K♥Q♥ for top pair, and Bousman mucked Q♦7♦.
Josh Mischel, who won the $600 event earlier this festival, just joined the field, as did Matthew Zambanini.

Heads-up on a flop of 10♠9♣K♠, Michael Zenone bet 3,000 from under the gun and Johnny Downey called in the hijack.
Zenone bet another 3,000 on the A♣ turn, and Downey again called. The river was the 7♣ and Zenone bet 5,000. Downey quickly called, and Zenone showed K♦10♦ for two pair to win the pot.
A player under the gun raised to 600 and Melanie Hennigan three-bet to 2,200 in the cutoff. The button called, as did Charles Furey in the big blind and the under-the-gun player.
All four players checked the 7♦10♣4♣ flop. Furey then bet 1,600 on the K♥ turn, and Hennigan and the button called.
The river was the 10♠ and Furey checked to Hennigan, who bet 3,700. The button folded as action went back to Furey. "You're ace-king is good," he said to Hennigan as he folded, and Hennigan took the pot.

The flop came 6♥9♥K♠ and Furey bet 1,100. His opponent called, and the 10♣ fell on the turn.
Furey then bet 3,000, and the big blind again called. The river was the 8♣ and Furey bet 7,600. His opponent tanked for a few minutes before giving up their hand, and Furey took down the pot.
A player in the cutoff bet 500 on a flop of 8♠6♦K♦ and was called by Derek Hudson and Joan Bousman in the blinds.
The turn was the 7♦ and Bousman bet 1,000. Only Hudson called, and they both checked down the 9♠ river.
"Straight. Six cards," Bousman said as he turned over 10♦5♥, and Hudson mucked.
Three players built a pot of around 2,000 as they went to a flop of Q♣5♣10♠. Michael Zenone then bet 1,200 from the button, and Charles Williams raised to 4,000 in the small blind.
The table folded back around to Zenone, and he quickly tossed his cards away. Williams showed A♣Q♦ while taking in the pot.
