Day 2 Begins at Noon Local Time; Hunichen Leads & Late Registration Remains Open

On Day 1, 106 entries took their seats in the $5,300 MILLIONS Finale at the Caribbean Poker Party Festival, but just 65 will return Friday for Day 2 action. At the head of the pack is Chris Hunichen, who recently shipped the $25,500 MILLIONS Super High Roller here in Punta Cana and will take 3,897,000 chips out of the bag when cards fly at noon. Diego Ventura (3,462,000), Ming Zhe Zhang (3,431,000), Vojtech Ruzicka (3,361,000), and Conor Beresford (3,155,000) round out the top five stacks and were the only other players to bag more than 3 million chips.

In addition to the current chip leaders, many more familiar faces advanced to Day 2, including partypoker Sponsored Pro Roberto Romanello (2,908,000), Steve O'Dwyer (2,820,000), Koray Aldemir (2,534,000), partypoker Sponsored Pro Natalia Breviglieri (2,502,000),John Duthie (2,361,000), partypoker Sponsored Pro Kristen Bicknell (2,299,000), partypoker Sponsored Pro Marcel Luske (1,953,000), Jonathan Little (1,806,000), partypoker Sponsored Pro Anatoly Filatov (1,530,000), Kenny Hallaert (1,228,000), Barny Boatman (1,048,000), and Adrian Mateos (737,000).

Late registration and re-entry will continue to be available until the beginning of level 13, which is scheduled to occur at approximately 4:30 p.m.

Hallaert Loses Some

With what looked like about 300,000 already in the middle and the board reading Kenny Hallaert bet 115,000 from the big blind into his lone opponent, Michael Addamo, who was on the button. Addamo went into the tank for nearly a minute before he raised to 400,000. Hallaert folded in fairly short order and the dealer pushed the pot Addamo's way.

The flop came and Waters checked. The button bet 110,000 and Waters check-raised to 250,000. His opponent called.

Kenny Hallaert opened to 50,000 from the cutoff, Barny Boatman three-bet to 150,000 from the small blind, Hallaert four-bet to 310,000, Boatman shoved, and Hallaert quickly called to put Boatman at risk.

Hallaert had a huge lead and Boatman found himself on the unfortunate end of the ultimate preflop cooler. The board ran out to further improve Hallaert to a set of aces, so he took the pot to stack Boatman.

Linde Doubles Through Engel

There were about 375,000 chips already in the pot and the board read when we got to the table. Dylan Linde bet 110,000 from the small blind and Ari Engel called from the hijack.

The turn brought the and Linde jammed for 464,000, puting Engel to a decision for a clear majority of his remaining chips. After a bit of time in the tank, Engel called to put Linde at risk.
