Loeser Loses It All

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Van Tiep Nguyen raised under the gun to 25,000, getting 3-bet to 75,000 by Moritz Dietrich next to act. Manig Loeser then went deep into the tank in the small blind, knowing he was going to have to take a showdown if he chose this time to shove.

Eventually, he moved in for his last 145,000. Next, it was Nguyen's turn in the tank, though he eventually screwed his face up and mucked his cards. Dietrich shrugged and called it off, turning over his {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds} hoping he would have two live cards. Loeser's {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} was way out in front, but things got a little sweaty on the {9-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop. Although Loeser flopped top pair, he would need to fade a ten or a diamond, as well as some backdoor stuff.

The {8-Spades} bricked on the turn, but the {3-Diamonds} would complete Dietrich's flush as he knocks out Loeser on the money bubble.

Our remaining six players each have €12,500 locked up.

Filatov and van Wesemael Win pots

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Hand 1

Moritz Dietrich opened to 28,000 and Benjamin Benoit called from one seat over, as did Anatoly Filatov in the big blind. The flop fell {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Filatov bet 40,000, which picked up a call by Dietrich only. After the {3-Spades} turn, Filatov made it 125,000 to go and that forced a fold from Dietrich, who said "take it." Filatov replied "I have the nuts, double nuts," while recording the action on a mini cam for his blog.

Hand 2

Sander van Wesemael raised to 30,000 and Filatov in the small blind three-bet to 85,000. "I am all in,"van Wesemael announced and Filatov folded instantly.

In a three-bet pot to the {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop, Benjamin Benoit checked to Sander van Wesemael, who bet 115,000. Benoit moved all in and van Wesemael called for his remaining 220,000 behind.

Sander van Wesemael: {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Benjamin Benoit: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

The {9-Spades} turn improved Benoit's over pair to a straight and he held up as a blank {Q-Spades} fell on the river, eliminating van Wesemael in 6th place for €12,500. All remaining five players are now guaranteed at least €20,000.

Brutal Match Up Favours Benoit

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Benoit with over half of the chips in play
Benoit with over half of the chips in play

Anatoly Filatov opened under the gun with a raise to 30,000, which was called by everyone left at the table with the exception of Van Tiep Nguyen. The players took a {5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop four ways, with action checking round to Moritz Dietrich on the button, who put in a 70,000 bet. Benjamin Benoit made the call, with Filatov and Jack Sinclair both folding.

Benoit decided to lead the {j-Hearts} turn for 78,000, before Dietrich raised it up to 275,000, and Benoit moved all-in. There was no need for a count, as Dietrich called the shove immediately, turning over his {5-Spades}{5-Hearts} for flopped second set. He was drawing to literally one card, as Benoit revealed {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for flopped top set!

Dietrich failed to improve on the river, but Benoit didn't, as the {9-Spades} landed to give him quad nines. The chips were counted out, and it was revealed that Dietrich owed the modest sum of 1,646,000 chips, leaving him with fewer than 20 big blinds.

Plenty of Action at the Table

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

All players, well except for Van Tiep Ngyuen, have joined the live "camera" action initiated by Anatoly Filatov and Jack Sinclair doubled with {K-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} against the {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} of Filatov in a battle of the blinds. The board came {Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{5-Clubs}{A-Clubs} and Sinclair doubled for 121,000 with the nut flush.

Benjamin Benoit then took a pot with pocket aces against Filatov before the partypoker team pro got involved into a bigger hand with Benoit. On the {9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Spades} flop, Filatov bet 50,000 and Benoit called on the button before the {7-Diamonds} turn was checked. Filatov bet the {K-Clubs} river for 135,000 and Benoit mucked the nut flush draw face up.

Back to more than a million, Filatov took on Nguyen and check-called a bet of 40,000 on the {Q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts} turn. Filatov led the {5-Diamonds} river for 120,000 and Nguyen eventually called to see Filatov turn over {6-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for bottom pair. Nguyen claimed the pot with {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and jumped into the second spot.

Break With Five Left

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

From the cutoff, Van Tiep Nguyen raised to 25,000 and Moritz Dietrich carefully studied the stack of fellow short stack Jack Sinclair, then folded with one minute left on the clock for the current level. Benjamin Benoit called out of the small blind and the flop came {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Spades} and both players checked, with the {A-Hearts} turn following the same action.

After the {3-Clubs} river, Benoit bet 53,000 and Nguyen called to chop the pot with {A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} against Benoit's {A-Spades}{2-Spades}.

Right after, the players headed into a 15-minute break.

Sinclair Doubles Through Benoit

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

A raise by Benjamin Benoit on the button saw Jack Sinclair shove from the small blind for 198,000 and Benoit called. "Yeah, I don't even care what the hands are," short stack Moritz Dietrich said.

Jack Sinclair: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Benjamin Benoit: {Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

The {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop gave Benoit a gutshot, while some outs vanished with the {J-Clubs} turn. "Yeah, club please," Sinclair said and was equally satisfied with the blank {3-Diamonds} on the river to secure the double.

Filatov Bests Nguyen

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

In a battle of the blinds, Anatoly Filatov bet the {9-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop for 40,000 and Van Tiep Nguyen called in the big blind. The {3-Hearts} appeared on the turn and Filatov checked, while Nguyen bet 75,000. The partypoker team pro called and the duo checked the {10-Spades} on the river.

Filatov was first to show and revealed {8-Clubs}{2-Spades} for a pair of deuces only, which was still good enough to win the pot.

Moritz Dietrich
Moritz Dietrich

Benjamin Benoit raised first to act and called the shove of short stack Moritz Dietrich in the big blind for less than 200,000.

Moritz Dietrich: {A-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Benjamin Benoit: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}

The previous clash of the two left Dietrich short in chips, and Benoit finished off the job after the board came {K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}. Dietrich was eliminated in 5th place and takes home €20,000 for his efforts, while the final four have €30,000 locked up.
