Vojtech Ruzicka, second in the Czech all-time money list and 5th place finisher in the 2016 World Series of Poker Main Event, has joined the competition. Ruzicka also already tasted victory in a partypoker sponsored event, taking down the £ 10,000 + 300 No Limit Hold'em - Millions High Roller at the Dusk Till Dawn in April.
Furthermore, Artur Rudziankov, the first player of the Czech poker community to win a WSOP bracelet, is now also in contention.
Manig Loeser had opened from early position and Kristen Bicknell in late position had got to the turn of a board reading .
Loeser bet 1,500 and got a call from Bicknell.
The river card was the and Loeser bet again on the double paired board for 2,200. Bicknell called and Loeser said, “You got it,” as he flashed and Bicknell showed the winning flush.
Picking up the action on the flop, Robin Hegele checked out of the small blind and Oliver Heidel did so in the big blind. Julian Thomas made it 3,000 to go and just Heidel called. After the turn, Heidel check-called a bet of 5,500 and bet the river for 9,000.
Thomas laughed and said "I don't have an ace, you already know that," and took another half a minute for tossing in the chips. Heidel turned over for quads and won the pot.
One table over, Moritz Dietrich and Kenny Hallaert got into a bigger pot. Both players invested 12,000 each on the flop and Dietrich then bet the turn for 18,000 from the big blind. Hallaert quickly folded and Dietrich scooped the pot.
Benjamin Benoit began with a call from the hijack, before Oren Rosen raised it to 3,000 next to act. Jan-Peter Jachtmann called on the button, with the big blind coming along as well. Four players took a flop, which Benoit led for 3,000. Rosen made the call, with the other players folding, as he and Benoit went heads up to the turn.
Both players quickly checked, before the landed on the river. Benoit very fluidly reached for 5,100 and tossed them over the betting line. After 30 seconds or so, Rosen reached for his stack, but he wasn't planning on calling, and raised it up to 10,500. Benoit reluctantly gave it up, conceding the pot to Rosen, who showed the .
On the heads-up turn of a board reading , Benjamin Benoit bet 3,000 and Jan-Peter Jachtmann in the cutoff raised to 6,500. Benoit called and the river completed the board triggering a check from Benoit. Jachtmann made it 11,700 to go and Benoit eventually folded.
"Yes, one time I wanted to bluff you," Jachtmann said and flashed . Benoit pulled his cards back from the muck and said he was tempted to call, revealing .
Ismael Bojang entered when the cards were back in the air while Scott Hanna claimed a small pot against Moritz Dietrich. The latter bet the flop for 5,000 before the turn and river were checked. Hanna announced "nuts" and turned over , while Kenny Hallaert chimed in with a "not the nuts".
Sander van Wesemael joked "nuts when it goes check, check," and by then the pot was shipped to Hanna.
Maxi Lehmanski kicked off the action by limping from under the gun for 800. Pierre Neuville decided to put out a double-handed raise to 2,800. The Talk came along in the big blind and Lehmanski put out the calling chips.
The flop was and it was checked to Neuville who bet 5,100. The Talk called and Lehmanski let it go.
The turn and river saw no further action and after a brief pause The Talk showed his with an increasing sense of confidence.
Neuville had another look back at his cards before he mucked and The Talk smiled and nodded as he continued on the comeback trail.
