SantaClaus Folds to Shove; Doubles After

Level 23 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Hand 1

Josef Snejberg raised from under the gun and picked up two callers in small blind SantaClaus and big blind Fabrice Halleux. On the {Q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop, the action checked to Snejberg and he bet 1.1 million. SantaClaus check-raised to 2.5 million and Halleux quickly folded before Snejberg checked the stack of his opponent and called.

Both checked the {7-Spades} on the turn and SantaClaus also checked the {A-Diamonds} river. Snejberg moved all in for effective 6.5 million and SantaClaus said "flush beats me, the rest not." Some swear words in German followed and he eventually folded. Gerald Karlic joked "show a black card" over to Snejberg, who double-checked his cards and sent them into the muck.

Hand 2

Karlic opened to 1.1 million and SantaClaus moved all in for 6.525 million in the cutoff. Karlic asked for a brief count and called.

SantaClaus: {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Gerald Karlic: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

The {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds} flop didn't change anything just yet, but SantaClaus got there with the {A-Diamonds} turn. A blank {9-Diamonds} river kept the German in the lead and he doubled.

Nick Broekhuizen Left Short

Level 22 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Al the chips went in on a flop of {2-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} with Dominik Desset the player at risk.

Nick Broekhuizen tabled an over pair holding {7-Clubs}{7-Spades} but Desset had flopped the wheel with {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}.

The turn was the {7-Hearts}.

“Sweat,” another player said of the chance of a full house, but the river was the {9-Hearts} and Desset could then laugh and tell him not to say that.

The Chips are Changing

Level 22 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Marc Doring raised to 800,000 and SantaClaus moved all in for 3,475,000 from one seat over, which Doring called.

SantaClaus: {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Marc Doring: {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}

The board came {K-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades}{K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} and the German doubled.

Soon after at the same table, most of the stack of Grzegorz Idziak was already in the middle of the table until the {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{8-Diamonds} turn and he moved all in for 2.4 million. Matous Skorepa called with {5-}{4-} for two pair and Idziak had {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}, spiking the {10-Spades} on the river to improve to better two pair.

Dominik Desset was one of the short stacks not long ago, but that has suddenly changed and he got value from Marek Blasko. Blasko checked the {J-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{A-Clubs} river and calleda bet of 3.5 million by Desset to muck when shown {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} for top pair top kicker.

SUPER HIGH ROLLER: Manig Loeser Eliminated In 7th

Level 22 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Manig Loeser is eliminated in 7th
Manig Loeser is eliminated in 7th

Manig Loeser and Steffen Sontheimer got it all in pre-flop for 112,000 each, with {a-Spades}{j-Hearts} and {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} respectively.

The {9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop gave Loeser a backdoor flush draw, with the {3-Clubs} turn offering some wheel outs to chop, but the {q-Hearts} on the river sealed it for Sontheimer who dragged the pot as Loeser exited the tournament area in 7th place.

Players are now taking a short break.
