In The Money

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

That's it!

Our floor staff are counting down the stacks, paying each remaining player the €250 min-cash, and bagging the chips up for tomorrow's 2:30 p.m. restart!

Big Turn For Berberi

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Asdreu Berberi made a raise to 50,000 under the gun, with action folding around to the player in the cutoff, who saw this is a good spot to shove his last 223,000. The blinds quickly moved out of the way and, after confirming the amount, Berberi put in the extra to make the call.

The cutoff turned over {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}, which Berberi seemed delighted to be up against as he rolled over {3-Spades}{3-Hearts} and the two players took it to the races.

The dealer spread an {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} flop to send the cutoff way into the lead, but the {3-Clubs} landed on the turn, securing another big pot for Berberi and knocking another player out. We are now just three from the money.

Ashfin Clears A Million

Ashfin Fattahi calmly scoops in a huge chunk of change

The player in middle position opened with a raise to 33,000, with Afshin Fattahi calling on the button, and the big blind coming along as well, to make it three to the flop.

The dealer spread {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} which all three players checked and, after the {9-Diamonds} landed on the turn and action checked to him again, Fattahi confidently took a 40,000 stab at the pot. The big blind quickly folded, with the original raiser sticking around to see one more card. The {5-Spades} hit the river, with both players checking, and Fattahi tabling {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. His opponent re-checked his hole cards before discarding them and conceding the 200,000-chip pot.

Fattahi calmly scooped in the huge chunk of change and buried it deep in his way-over one million-chip stack. He's as good as a lock to make the money, with six players required to bust before we conclude the day's action.

Double Average Stack For Csaba

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Csaba Maliuai holds to drag a big pot
Csaba Maliuai holds to drag a big pot

Csaba Maliuai opened with a raise to 35,000 from middle position, before the player on the button adjusted his headphones, gave a short staredown and shoved all-in for 235,000. With the blinds out of the way, Maliuai quickly called.

Maliuai was way ahead with his {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} and just needed to fade the three outs of his opponent's {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Both players hit top pair on the {2-Spades}{a-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop, with both players hitting the post on the {q-Hearts} turn and {j-Clubs} river, Maliuai ultimately holding to drag in a big pot and bring his stack up to double the average.

We are 14 players from the money and every pot is crucial at this point.

Pause The Clock

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

We've paused the clock, if for no other reason than having run out of blind levels!

The blinds will be capped at 8,000/16,000 with a 16,000 button ante until we are down to 41 runners and conclude play for the day.

Two Aces, No Dice

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

It looked like we were amidst somewhat of a cooler as three players agreed to wager 22,000 on an {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{a-Spades} flop. The {8-Spades} landed on the turn, with both blinds checking the action over to the original raiser who chose to slam the brakes on.

The small blind led out for 75,000 on the {j-Spades} river, with both of his opponents choosing to fold quickly, although not before grimacing slightly.

We're down to 68 players, with 41 players making the money, so the field is definitely tightening up.

Half The Field To Fade

Level 17 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

We're down to 82 remaining players, and with 41 players to be paid, exactly half the field from this point will make Day 2, while the other half will, unfortunately, miss out.

Anyone who doesn't make it has exaclty three more chances to get through to Day 2, via Day 1d which has just kicked off, or one of the two remaining hyper-turbos (one at 1030pm tonight, one at 10am tomorrow.)
