The partypoker MILLION North America Main Event heads into Day 1b in just one short hour. With a CA$5,000,000 guaranteed prizepool and CA$1,000,000 guaranteed to the champion, this is the biggest event Canada has seen in several years!
Live Day 1b is set to begin at 12:00 p.m. local time in Montreal, Canada. Players that buy into the tournament for CA$5,300/$4,000 will receive 1,000,000 chips to start, however there will be a variety of different stacks from the Phase 1 qualifiers. There will be 60-minute levels on Day 1, with one re-entry permitted until the end of the break, following level 6. Registration will also be available on Day 2 until the end of the first break after two levels.

There are 123 entries confirmed for Live Day 1b from the Phase 1 qualifiers, with Sammy Chao leading the way with 3,149,000 chips. After 372 total entries filed through the doors at the Playground Poker Club yesterday, this marquee tournament is well on its way to reaching the guarantee. 137 players bagged chips on Day 1a and will be returning on Day 2 which will commence on May 7th.

Mike Sexton, a well-known icon in the poker community, is one of the more familiar faces amongst the players competing here in Montreal this week. However, with the fame, comes a target on your back as well.
In a more recent hand, action was on Sexton in the big blind and he was facing a raise of 20,000 with two callers in between. Sexton made the call and four players saw the flop of . Action was checked to his opponent in late position who made a bet of 30,000, and Sexton was the only one who called.
Heads up to the turn , Sexton led out for 35,000 and his opponent raised to 75,000. Sexton shrugged his shoulders and called.
The river killed the action as it went check-check and the hands were tabled. Sexton showed , but his opponent got the best of him on the turn, showing .

World Series of Poker 2013 Main Event Champion, Ryan Riess, has taken his seat and looks to add another title to his already-impressive resume. Riess has already had a phenomenal year with deep runs in the Bahamas and Panama, followed by a World Poker Tour win in the $10,000 Main Event at the Seminole Hard Rock, and then a final table finish in Monte Carlo just a couple of weeks later.
