Brandt New Chance

Level 46 : 400,000/800,000, 80,000 ante

Patrice Brandt moved all-in for a micro-stack of just under three million chips after losing a previous pot and he was in good shape against Spanish professional Javier Gomez.

Patrice Brandt: {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Javier Gomez: {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}

The board of {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} saw Brandt survive, but he is still sat with a stack of much less than ten big blinds. With the blinds going up in ten minutes, he stands on the precipice.

Some for Cody

Level 46 : 400,000/800,000, 80,000 ante

Jake Cody raised to 1,800,000 and Moritz Dietrich as well as Christoffer Stahle in the blinds both called. The trio chercked the {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop and the action on the {Q-Diamonds} turn checked to Cody, who bet 2,800,000. Dietrich called, while Stahle folded.

After the {10-Clubs} river, Dietrich bet 6,000,000 and Cody quickly called. Dietrich's {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts} and Cody's {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades} chopped it up.

One hand later, Cody and Dietrich were at it again, and this time Cody's bet on the {10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts} claimed the pot uncontested.

Cosentino Settles for a Chop

Level 46 : 400,000/800,000, 80,000 ante

Vicente Delgado raised to 1,6 million from late position and Antonio Cosentino announced all-in. Delgado almost threw in the chips right away but did end up waiting for the final count from the dealer; 18,695,000.

Cosentino's {Q-Spades}{10-Spades} was flipping against the {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} of Delgado, but as the flop came {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, Cosentino had one foot out the door already. The {Q-Hearts} did give Cosentino some additional outs to avoid elimination, and when the onboard straight was completed with the {J-Spades} river, the players chopped the pot.

Pantin Forces Grochulski Out

Level 47 : 500,000/1,000,000, 100,000 ante

Daniel Wilson check-raised all in with {10-}{9-} on a {J-}{9-}{3-} flop against {K-}{Q-} and held up to double before then three-bet shoving again and taking down the pot preflop. Soenka Jahn, one of the other short stacks, also moved in, but the 12.29M proved to be too much for all opponents.

Then, Jeremy Pantin defended his big blind against the under-the-gun raise of Grzegorz Grochulski and check-raised the {A-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop from 2.3M to 6.7M. Grochulski called, but quickly folded the {8-Spades} turn to a shove by Pantin.

Ben Jackson is short-stacked and has got through two pre-flop shoves in two hands to stabilise, but with the new level of a million-chip big blind giving everyone the impetus to go hard or go home, this could be a crucial level of the tournament.

Moritz Dietrich has retaken the lead in what is increasingly becoming a Day 4 battle on different tables with the hurricane that is Katie Swift.

Stanway's Jacks No Good

Level 47 : 500,000/1,000,000, 100,000 ante

Daniel Stanway raised to 2,45 million out of the small blind and Javier Gomez made the call for an old-fashioned blind battle. The flop came down {3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Stanway slid a bet of 3,9 million over the betting line before Gomez quickly announce all-in. Stanway preemptively packed his belongings together and made the call, only to find his {J-Hearts}{J-Spades} had been out flopped by the {5-Spades}{2-Spades} of Gomez.

The board ran out {9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and Stanway wished the remaining players at the table good luck before he headed for the cashier.

Double Elimination Vaults Chidwick Above Average

Level 47 : 500,000/1,000,000, 100,000 ante
Stephen Chidwick

Jonas Lauck and Grzegorz Grochulski both have to settle for a payout of £20,000, but especially for the German it means he misses out on the chance to score £100,000 as part of the last longer competition. What had happened?

Lauck shoved for around 10M from the button and Stephen Chidwick reshoved the small blind. Grochulski called all in from the big blind for around 18M and the cards were tabled.

Jonas Lauck: {Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Grzegorz Grochulski: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Stephen Chidwick: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

The board ran out {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{3-Spades}{9-Spades}{A-Spades} and the double elimination vaulted Chidwick's stack above the average after starting Day 4 as far shortest stack.

Cody Folds to Shove; Yan Doubles on Feature Table

Level 47 : 500,000/1,000,000, 100,000 ante

In a battle of the blinds, there were already more than 18M in the middle and Jake Cody checked the {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} river. Maria Lampropoulos moved all in and Cody eventually folded.

At the same time over on the feature table, Paul Byrne raised on the button and [Removed:17] shoved in the big blind with the {K-Clubs}{J-Spades}. Byrne tabled pocket tens and the board came {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} to give Yan a runner-runner straight. Yan doubled for 16,570,000 and Byrne was left with less than nine big blinds.

Stephen Chidwick Is Doing It

Level 47 : 500,000/1,000,000, 100,000 ante
Stephen Chidwick
Stephen Chidwick

Stephen Chidwick is on fire. He started the day with a mere 2.5 big blinds, and with two recent eliminations, he's now got almost double the average stack.

First, he took out Daniel Wilson. Chidwick raised to 2 million, Wilson defended his big blind, and they got the money in on a {7-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop. Wilson had flopped top pair with {9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, but Chidwick held the overpair of Jacks, and neither the {K-Diamonds} turn or the {10-Hearts} came through for Wilson.

Two hands later Chidwick opened for 2 million once again, and this time a short stacked Antonio Cosentino put his 6 million at risk. Chidwick made the call with {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and got there with an Ace on the turn against the {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} of Cosentino.

"You just can't lose," tablemate Vicente Delgado told Chidwick. The Brit just smiled and added a few additional towers to his castle of chips.
