Mateos Continues to Climb

Level 12 : 15,000/35,000, 35,000 ante

Picking up the action on a completed board of {k-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}, Adrian Mateos pushed all in and Ognjen Sekularac made the call for the last of his chips. Mateos turned over {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} for a set of threes and Sekularac mucked his cards. Mateos is closing in on the eight-figure mark but Simon Higgins is already there with over 10 million chips.

The players are about to head on another 15-minute break and late registration will be closed once the action resumes.

Kings for Duhamel

Level 12 : 15,000/35,000, 35,000 ante
Jonathan Duhamel
Jonathan Duhamel

The dealer fanned a flop of {10-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts} and the big blind checked to Jonathan Duhamel who bet 80,000 from under the gun. The big blind check-raised to 255,000 and Duhamel shoved all in. His opponent quickly called off his stack of around 1,000,000 and the cards were on their backs.

Duhamel flipped over {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} and his opponent in trouble with {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}. The turn was the {2-Clubs} and the {9-Diamonds} on the river changed nothing as Duhamel held on to eliminate his opponent. It's been an all-in party at most of the tables as players are looking to get their chips in the middle as quickly as possible for the late registration period closes after this level.

Simon Higgins has emerged as the current chip leader but there are plenty of big names near the top of the leaderboard as well. Justin Bonomo, Sylvain Loosli, Steve O'Dwyer, and Benjamin Pollak all have a healthy amount of chips in front of them.

O'Dwyer Sends Diaz Into the Tank

Level 9 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

In a three-bet pot between Steve O'Dwyer in middle position and Guillaume Diaz in the small blind, the dealer spread the flop of {a-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. Diaz led out for 180,000 and O'Dwyer called to see the {8-Clubs} land on the turn.

Diaz checked this time and O'Dwyer fired in a bet of 450,000 which Diaz called. The river brought the {9-Spades} and Diaz checked again. O'Dwyer moved all in for 1,155,000 which sent Diaz into the tank. He thought for well over five minutes but eventually decided to lay his hand down.
