He opened up his arms to show and said he had about a million. The rest of the table didn't agree and said it was closer to 1.4 million.
Antonius asked the dealer for a real count. The dealer complied with the request and counted Thorel's stack. Thorel had 1,480,000 in front of him. Antonius thought about it for a minute or so and called.
