Smit Drops; Leah Climbs

Level 9 : 15,000/35,000, 35,000 ante

On the tail end of a big pot between Seyed Smit and Yuri Masliankou, the latter moved all in for 1.055 million out of the big blind and former chip leader Smit was in the think tank on the button with the completed board showing {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}. The German eventually folded and dropped to around 3.3 million.

Mike Leah raised from the button and called TELY's three-bet to 285,000 out of the small blind. The duo checked through the {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop and TELY bet the {Q-Clubs} turn for 325,000, Leah called. On the {3-Hearts} river, TELY checked and Leah forced a fold with a bet of 425,000 to win the pot uncontested.

Mehrshad Takes a Big One

Hossein Pour Mershad
Hossein Pour Mershad

Mehrshad Hossein Pour raised from the cutoff and called a three-bet by the player in the small blind to see a flop of {10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. The small blind bet 200,000 and Pour called before the {Q-Hearts} fell on the turn. The small blind now bet 1.0 million for half his stack and Pour took a few seconds before moving all in.

His opponent sighed and called to get shown {K-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for the flopped second nut flush by Pour, and tabled his {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for just a pair of tens. A meaningless {4-Spades} on the river completed the board and Pour raked in a massive pot to boost his stack.

Geilich Finishes Off Concepcion

Level 9 : 15,000/35,000, 35,000 ante

The seat that formerly belonged to Jonathan Concepcion is now vacated and Ludovic Geilich was not finished just yet with stacking even more chips. According to Geilich, he three-bet the raise of Concepcion out of the big blind and then bet the {9-}{9-}{7-} flop for 135,000, Concepcion called.

On the {10-Hearts} turn that brought a hearts flush draw, both players checked and Geilich check-called the shove of Concepcion for 600,000 with pocket aces, the Spaniard only had {A-}{Q-}.

Level 8 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier three-bet preflop on the button and the initial raiser called to see a flop of {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. The initial raiser bet 150,000 and Grospellier raised, then called the shove of his opponent for 1.5 million with the {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}. The {2-Clubs} turn and {K-Spades} river did just that and the Frenchman doubled.

Nofal and Kollmann Take a Hit

Level 8 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Christian Nofal raised to 65,000 and "ggbn" three-bet to 205,000 on the button. Nofal called and the duo checked down the flop of {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{J-Spades}. On the {8-Hearts} turn, Nofal checked and called a bet of 125,000 before checking again the {A-Clubs} river. ggbn bet 165,000 and Nofal called after some consideration.

ggbn showed {K-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for aces and kings, and that won the pot.

Erich Kollmann's raise was called by a short stack in the big blind and the latter check-raised all in for 300m,000 on {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}. Kollmann, who had bet 105,000, called it off with the {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for an open-ended straight draw and the player at risk turned over his {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. The {3-Diamonds} turn and {2-Diamonds} river brought no change and Kollmann dropped below half the starting stack.
