Romero Holds With Tens to Double

Level 26 : 350,000/700,000, 700,000 ante

The action folded around to James Romero on the button, and he raised off his 11.9m stack. Anthony Wickert decided to move all in for around 35m from the big blind when it was his turn to act and Romero snap-called.

Romero flipped over pocket tens and was up against Wickert's {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}.

The board fell {6-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, and the American Romero held to double up to 26m.

Huntly Counterfeits Glaser to Double

Level 25 : 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante

Gordon Huntly has just received a full double up through Benny Glaser courtesy of runner-runner two pair. Huntly put all his stack at risk on the {2-Hearts}{j-Spades}{a-Spades} flop holding {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} but was behind to Glaser's two pair with {a-Diamonds}{2-Spades}.

But the board completed with the {7-Diamonds} on the turn and {7-Clubs} on the river, and gifted the pot to Huntly with a better two pair.

Glaser was left with 17.5m, and Huntly clawed himself back up to 32m.

Level 25 : 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante
Brandon Sheils
Brandon Sheils

Brandon Sheils has continued his rise up the chip counts on Day 3 and eliminated another player. Parminder Kandola moved all in for his last 8m from middle position, and Sheils raised from the small blind which got the big blind to fold.

Sheils tabled pocket kings, and Kandola was behind with pocket sevens. The {a-}{10-}{5-}{6-}{5-} board kept Sheils in the lead and Kandolo was eliminated in 33rd place.

The remaining 32 players are now playing across four tables and have all locked up £5,500.

Wickert Hits a Flush to Crack Maudlin's Aces

Level 25 : 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante

David Maudlin, playing from early position, and Anthony Wickert, playing from the big blind, got all their chips into the middle preflop with Maudlin the at-risk player.

But Maudlin held pocket aces and was in good shape against Wickert's {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}.

The {3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop was safe for Maudlin. However, the turn {5-Diamonds}, gave Wickert additional outs to the flush. And in brutal fashion, the {7-Diamonds} river card hit for Wickert and Maudlin saw his pocket aces defeated.

Once the counts were confirmed Maudlin was sent to the rail in 34th place for £4,800, and Wickert stacked his new chips worth 31m.
