Parsons Doubles Through Glaser

Level 24 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Joe Parsons moved all in from the cutoff for 5.1m before Benny Glaser called in the small blind. Chris Da-Silva gave himself 20 seconds of thinking time in the big blind but opted to fold.

Joe Parsons: {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Benny Glaser: {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Board: {10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{j-Spades}{6-Spades}{a-Clubs}

Glaser took the lead on the flop when he paired his jack, but Parsons had outs. None of those came on the turn however, but when the ace of clubs hit the river, Parsons completed his straight and sealed a full double up.

Dean Hutchison: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}

Board: {4-Clubs}{7-Spades}{k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Hulme was in bad shape with his smaller pocket pair and got no help from the board which signaled his elimination for £4,800, as Hutchison moved up to 30m.

Smith Doubles Through Parsons

Level 24 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Joe Parsons, on the button, and Tom Smith, in the big blind, got all their chips into the middle preflop in the most classic of flip situations.

Parsons' held {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}, and Smith was the slight favorite with {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}. The board fell in Smith's favor after the dealer revealed {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Hearts}.

Smith moved up to 27m with the pot and Parsons was left short with 5.5m.

Brenner Doubles to 50m With a Royal Flush

Level 23 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Jurgen Brenner
Jurgen Brenner

Jurgen Brenner and Paul Michaelis have just played out the hand of the tournament so far, and it resulted in Brenner hitting the 50m mark with a royal flush.

Brenner was playing from the button and Michaelis was in the big blind. When we arrived at the table, the cards were on their backs, and Brenner retold the action.

Brenner called a three-bet from Michaelis preflop, and the flop fell {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{q-Clubs}. Michaelis bet 2.4m and Brenner raised to 7.2m which was called. The turn brought the {k-Clubs}, and Michaelis check-called a 5.5m bet. After the river fell the {q-Spades}, Michaelis moved all in and Brenner snap-called.

Michaelis held {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for a full house, but Brenner tabled {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for the royal flush to swoop the pot as the table looked on in amazement.

Michaelis was left with just 1.1m but secured a double up in the very next hand.

Filatov Cracks Ace-King & Aces to Triple Up; Sheils Wins Big

Level 23 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Anatoly Filatov
Anatoly Filatov

Anatoly Filatov moved all in from middle position for around 5m with {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, and Paul McTaggart and Brandon Sheils got all their chips into the middle as well.

McTaggart held {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}, but Sheils was a big favorite with {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}.

The {2-Spades}{j-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop gave Filatov some hope of survival but the turn {4-Diamonds} was no help. The Russian was all set to exit, but the river {k-Clubs} gave him two pair, and he survived miraculously to win the main pot, with Sheils taking a big side pot to move over 38m.
