O'Connor Wins Two Million Chip Pot Against Zhang

Level 23 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Jamie O'Connor
Jamie O'Connor

The action was opened with a raise from the player in the under the gun position and Jamie O'Connor three-bet in the cutoff. Patrice Brandt cold-called from the button as did Michael Chi Zhang from the small blind and after the initial raiser also called they went four-ways to the flop with 350,000 in the pot already.

Flop: {q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}

Action checked to O'Connor and he bet 105,000. Brandt folded, Zhang called and the other player folded.

Now heads-up on the turn, both players checked after the dealer revealed the {6-Diamonds}.

The {10-Spades} hit on the river and Zhang took the betting lead for 240,000. O'Connor sized up his own chip stack and raised to 750,000. Zhang seemed to sigh to himself and thought about his decision. After some contemplation, he called. O'Connor turned over {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a flush and Zhang mucked. The two-million chip pot was pushed towards O'Connor and put him over the five million mark.

We got to the table with Raj Dhiri having just doubled with {q-}{q-} against the {9-}{9-} of Anthony Elliott.

"Hold up dealer," said Dhiri, "I just want to check if I'm over average. It's been forever."

On close inspection, Dhiri was approximately 50,000 chips short of average which now starts at just under 2.4m.

Del Piero Doubles Through Chipleader Morgan

Level 23 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Enzo Del Piero raised from under the gun and Daniel Morgan called in the next position. Another player called and they went three-ways to a {k-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop.

It checked to Morgan who bet 125,000 and Del Piero was the only caller. The turn was the {9-Hearts} and Del Piero checked. Morgan bet 250,000 and Del Piero check-raised to 650,000. Morgan flat-called.

The river was the {a-Spades} and Del Piero moved all in for 750,000.

"Have you got it?" asked Morgan.

"It's 50/50," replied Del Piero.

After a while Morgan called. Del Piero slammed down {5-}{5-} for a set of fives and was ahead of the {a-}{k-} of Morgan.

John Leslie raised to 90,000 and Andrew King three-bet to 245,000 from the button. Leslie called and the flop was {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.

Leslie checked and King continued for 275,000. Leslie check-raised to 620,000 and after some thought King re-raised all in. Leslie snap-called.

"We've got the same ha-" said King tabling {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} but he was cutoff by his opponent showing {7-Spades}{8-Spades} for trips.

The turn {9-Hearts} and river {4-Hearts} didn't help King, and he was sent to the rail quietly muttering expletives under his breath.
