Rivest Recovers Some Chips

Level 5 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Kevin Rivest was building up a stack in the early going but took a big hit just prior to the last break. However, he got things back on track with a key double up. There was a raise to 25,000 from middle position and Rivest called from the small blind.

The flop fell {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {2-Spades} on the turn. Rivest checked again and his opponent bet 40,000. Rivest check-raised to 175,000 and his opponent quickly called.

The river was the {4-Spades} and Rivest moved all in for 538,000. His opponent snap-called and Rivest turned over {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} for a set of deuces. His opponent showed {k-Spades}{q-Hearts} but was forced to send over a double up to Rivest.

From the cutoff, Camille Mikhael raised to 50,000 before Faraz Jaka three-bet to 175,000 from the button.

The blinds folded, and when the action returned to Arsenault, he moved all in for 841,000.

With just under 500,000 in the middle on the {6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{a-Hearts} board, Jonathan Roy bet 310,000 from the big blind and Babak Forozandeh called in the hijack.

The river landed the {9-Clubs} and Roy moved all in for roughly 840,000. Forozandeh snap-called and tabled his {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a flush to sink Roy's {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} for top set, and was consequently eliminated.
