Michael Addamo Leads 17 Players into Day 2 of WPT #05 High Roller: $1M Gtd

The biggest event of the night, WPT #05 High Roller: $1M Gtd has concluded with 17 out of 99 players making it through to Day 2. Aussie superstar Michael Addamo once again showed why he's in the conversation for one of the best tournament players in the world as he'll be taking a substantial chip lead into day 2.

Addamo towered over his competition and collected 1,519,333 in chips, dwarfing his nearest challengers Ramiro Petrone (1,062,319) and David Coleman (762,208).

Needless to say, the Aussie will be the odds-on favorite when cards will go back in the air on Monday, May 16 at 7:05 p.m. GMT. The winner at the end of the night will receive $249,791, while all remaining players are guaranteed at least $21,277 for their efforts.

Mike Watson (679,074), David Peters (564,485), Simon Mattsson (395,662), Rob Yong (266,964), Artur Martirosian (237,096), and Yuri Dzivielevski (227,897) are among those in contention as well.

Shortly after the Opener wrapped up, another one of partypoker's flagship WPT tournaments concluded with Hungary's Daniel Koloszar coming out on top in WPT #03 The Big Game for $48,680. Heads-up, Koloszar struck a with Maxi Lehmanski, resulting in a nearly equal payday of $45,874 for the well-known German grinder residing in Austria.

A field of 520 players put up the $500+30 buy-in, resulting in a prize pool falling just shy of the $300,000 guarantee. Eugenio Peralta and Jerry Odeen also made the final table, while Joseph Cheong just missed out by finishing 10th for $3,960.

Billy Irvine Wins WPT #01 Opener for $81,841, Conor Beresford Finishes 3rd

At around 3:30 in the morning, UK's Billy Irvine topped the WPT #01 Opener: $500K Gtd for a combined total of $81,841. Irvine won $39,608 through the regular prize pool and added a massive progressive bounty of $42,233 on top of it.

Irvine defeated Dutchman Ronnie Lemmers heads-up, who walked away $59,034 richer in the process. UK online legend Conor Beresford rounded out the podium for a combined score of $32,241.

The total prize pool ended up at $574,000, smashing the guarantee of $500,000 set by partypoker for this event. 84 out of 574 players made it through to day 2 and all walked away with a cash of at least $1,107.

WPT #01 Opener Final Table Has Been Reached

The final table of the WPT #01 Opener has been reached as there are seven players left in the tournament.

Billy Irvine is in the lead and joined by Ronnie Lemmens, Joel Nystedt, Casimir Seire, Alexander van der Swaluw, Conor Beresford, and Rodrigo Selouan on the final table.

They have all secured at least $6,783 but will all be targeting the first-place prize of $39,608 and bounties.

WPT #05 High Roller Prize Pool Details Confirmed

With 99 entries in the tournament, the $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool was narrowly missed by one more entry. Rob Yong, Bruno Volkmann, Jon Van Fleet, and David Szep were the players who entered last-minute.

The prize pool will be divided between 17 players with a min-cash worth at least $21,277 while the eventual winner will walk away with $249,791 on Monday. Play will end once the money has been reached and this is what the 31 remaining players are all battling for:

$547,000 was collected by the entries on the three starting days of the WPT #01 Opener which means that the original $500,000 guarantee was surpassed. All 84 players who made the final day cashed for at least $1,107 and bounties as the tournament is played in a 6-max progressive knockout format.

There are currently 48 players still left in the tournament who have all secured at least $1,421 excluding any earned bounties.

Alexander van der Swaluw is in the lead and followed by Ioannis Angelou-Konstas and Santo Bakker in the top three.
