Gustis Can't Believe

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Joe Gustis was in the small blind and bet 50,000 into about 75,000 on a completed board of {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}. Cody Heuschkel flicked in a chip right away from the button, and Gustis announced three jacks, tabling {j-Spades}{2-Clubs}.

No good though, as Heuschkel had {a-Spades}{10-Hearts} for turned Broadway.

"You gotta be f****** kidding me," Gustis muttered.

Pandya Caught Bluffing

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

A player in the big blind called 26,500 from Ketan Pandya, on the button on {7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. On the {a-Clubs} river, the big blind checked and Pandya bet 50,000. The big blind spent about two minutes in the tank and then put in a call.

Pandya flicked {6-Spades}{2-Spades} in for a whiffed straight draw, and the big blind showed {10-Spades}{9-Spades}.

Chettipally Unlucky and Busted

Level 13 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Cody Heuschkel raised to 6,000 in the hijack and called when Naveen Chettipally shoved for 14,500 in the cutoff. Heuschkel was dominated with {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} against {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}, but the {8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{j-Clubs} flop gave him some more outs to a straight. No waiting as he got there immediately on the {10-Hearts} turn.

Chettipally could only chop, but the {j-Hearts} river wasn't the paint he needed.

Veliu Soaring

Level 13 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Pandya Stacks One

Level 13 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

A player limped in early and then shoved over a raise to 7,500 from Ketan Pandya. The shove was about 55,000, and Pandya called with {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}. He was happy to see he was dominating {a-}{9-}, and the {2-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} board brought nothing to trouble him.

Flip to Veliu

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

A player with 35,000 was all in against Alida Veliu, flipping with {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} against {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. The {a-}{10-}{10-}{9-}{3-} board sent the pot to Veliu with aces up and she added to a growing stack.

Santoro Heated, Coolered

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Luigi Santoro was facing an all-in shove worth about 40,000 into a pot of around 60,000 on {6-Hearts}{k-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{a-Clubs}. Cody Heuschkel had stuffed in middle position on Santoro's right, and Santoro was considering calling for most of his own stack.

He did call, and Heuschkel showed {4-}{4-} for a flopped set. Santoro slapped down {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} angrily, cursing his poor luck, as he said he'd been coolered in savage fashion twice so far on Day 1b.
