Another Beat for Ibrahim

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Patrick Ibrahim
Patrick Ibrahim

With about 35,000 in the pot, big blind Michael Anderson was all in for 28,000 on {8-Clubs}{j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}. Patrick Ibrahim thought briefly and dropped in calling chips. Anderson had {q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for jacks up, but Ibrahim was in good shape with {9-Clubs}{7-Spades}.

The river was a {10-Clubs}, giving both players straights, but Anderson's was superior. He pumped his fist and raked in the double.

"You gotta get lucky every once in awhile," he said.

Zambrano's Aces Hold

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

After a preflop raising war, a player in the cutoff was all in for around 105,000, with Carlos Zambrano having him at risk from the button. Unfortunately for Zambrano's opponent, he was in awful shape with {k-Spades}{q-Hearts} against {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}. The {k-}{2-}{3-} gave him a shot on the flop but no further help emerged.

Linster Runs Into Blades

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

A player in the cutoff raised, Mike Linster made it 13,500 on the button, and the cutoff put in all of his big chips. Linster put in his stack and sighed when his opponent showed {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}. Linster had {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} and needed a whole lot of help but the {6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{5-Spades}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts} board brought nothing.

Ibrahim Busted on Beat

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

In the cutoff, Patrick Ibrahim was all in for what looked like 31,000 into a pot of 40,000 or so. The board read {k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and Joe Gustis was in the tank from the big blind.

"I don't think you have anything," he declared.

Moments later, he called, but Ibrahim did have {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for top pair.

"Not drawing dead," Gustis said, showing {8-Spades}{5-Hearts}.

Prophetic words as the {5-Diamonds} hit to give him the pot.

Vinny Pahuja Loses With Trips

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Vinny Pahuja was facing an all-in shove for 40,200 in a battle of the blinds with {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{8-Spades} on the felt. The shove was about twice the size of the pot, and Pahuja dropped in a chip to call. His opponent showed {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a straight and Pahuja grunted in disgust and showed a {6-}.

Yaraliyev Gets Check-Raise Through

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Rafael Yaraliyev opened for 2,500 in the hijack and faced a three-bet to 8,000 from an opponent on the button. Yaraliyev called, bringing an {8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{a-Hearts} flop. He checked and his opponent bet 5,000. Yaraliyev came back with 14,000 and that earned him the pot in short order.
