The final starting flight of the Big Stax XXXI 500 is set to kick off at 10 a.m. local time today at the Parx Casino in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Yesterday saw a total of 232 entries come out for the second starting flight and at the end of the night, 45 players found a bag for Day 2.

The two starting flights have combined for 481 total entries with 90 players advancings to Day 2.

Bagging the top five stacks at end of Day 1b were Jonathan Diolosa (854,500), Sridhar Natarajan (575,500), Aubrey Williams (506,500). Samuel Taylor (405,000), and David Lin (392,500).

Other players to advance include Joe Palma (350,500), Ryan Eriquezzo, (342,000), Daniel Sewnig (300,000), Marilyn Matthews (223,000), and Tam Nguyen (221,000).

Parx Big Stax XXXI 500 Outlook

The tournament will start players with 40,000 in chips and cards will be in the air at 10 a.m. for Day 1d. Just like the first two starting flights, today will play through fifteen 45-minute levels. The surviving players will combine for Day 2 action on Sunday, October 6th at 11 a.m. with the final table set to play out on Monday, October 7th with a start time of noon.

15-minute breaks will occur after levels 3, 6, and12, with a dinner break at 5:30 p.m. It is an unlimited re-entry and best-stack-forward event. Late registration and re-entry will be available until Level 17 begins.

Donglai Wang opened under the gun for 1,000 and found two callers before Jeffrey Gibson three-bet to 3,500 from the hijack. Action folded back around to Wang who called, along with Stephen Faulkner, while Naveen Chettipally mucked his hand.

The {2-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop fell and Wang lead out for 8,000 getting a fold from Faulkner while Gibson called to see the board pair on the turn with the {a-Spades}.

Wang continued for 14,000 and was quickly called by Gibson as the dealer completed the board with the {8-Spades}.

Wang had one last bullet in him, this time for 21,400 putting himself all-in.

Gibson called and seen Wang table complete air with {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} as he scooped the pot with {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}.
